    It's so awesome, I must write a description of Deunen's Queen!

    Excerpt from the United Trans-System States Office of Naval Intelligence Archive:

    <span style='color:white'>The "Queen" Kharaa has only been encountered once by the Frontiersmen, on the planet of Sigma Octanus V in a subterranean aquaduct that had been clogged by the infestation. It is believed that once the infestation reaches a point determined by the Bacterium, attaining a magnitude of resources unavailable in a space station, some Hives will begin an expensive molting process, transforming into a mobile organism. This is the result; a huge lifeform that can contend with Terran medium armor. While its lack of a long-range anti-armor weapon severely limits its frontline combat potential, the Queen excels in the support role. It can disperse large amounts of Kharaa bacteria from the pores on the ducts that line its back, providing rapid regeneration to damaged Kharaa in the vicinity and termporarily supercharging their metabolisms to enhance their speed, strength, stamina, and endurance. Additionally, the Queen has a tentacle on its back containing glands that produce a highly caustic substance of unknown composition that is disturbingly effective against the Titanium-B battleplate found on most of our ground vehicles, even against self-repairing nanotech armor. It is also highly toxic; water samples taken from the Queen's aquaduct den could kill humans on contact with skin (it is not known whether this toxin remains potent once it has evaporated). This powerful tentacle is tipped with a heavy and nearly indestructible razor head similar in composition to the Terran hard-plastic composites found in modern armor-piercing rounds. The tentacle is the Queen's only offensive weapon; its other abilities are indirect. The large sacs on its sides contain large amounts of minerals and resources, with an estimated res carrying capacity of 10,000 standard nanosludge points. This massive stockpile of res allows the Queen to disgorge a virtually unlimited series of small structures and resources for other Gorges to collect. In addition, the Queen can build structures much larger than those of the Gorge and quickly construct regular structures by pumping res through thousands of retractable cilia on its underbelly. The most significant trait of the Queen, however, is that it can act as a mobile spawn point for the Kharaa, effectively pumping out an army while it walks. However, spawning "dead" alien consciousnesses circulating in the Bacterium's network costs some of the Queen's resources. In the open, the Queen is a prime taget for the Frontiersmen due to the threat presented by a mobile spawn point and the feast awaiting processing nanites if a Queen is killed. It cannot sufficiently defend itself from armor or aircraft, and must rely on heavier units for protection.     That would be a cool gameplay change! An alien "commander". Would receive all the resources collected by the aliens (except RFK and initial res) and distribute them to the players according to the team's current needs (DCs, fades, 2nd hive etc). Would act as a hive that's player-controlled and can defend itself... I'd love to at least see a beta test of that!

    Hive 0 ability: Bacterium, lays a carpet of bacterium in the surrounding area that gives an extra healing bonus similar to lv3 Regeneration, and acts as a spore cloud to marines.
    Hive 1 ability: Baaaabbbleeers!
    Hive 2 ability: Tentacle, attacks with its powerful tentacle, especially powerful against heavy armor.
    Hive 3 ability: Paralyze, good ole' ability from previous NS versions.

    I think this would be very cool:

    Sycophant: A base parasite; a mean or servile flatterer; especially, a flatterer of princes and great men.

    Basically it would be a very small bug, like a spider with only 50hp and 10armor. Basically it would be about half the size of a headcrab and very poisonous.

    Res cost: 30

    General Ability: Automatic Parasite, when touching a marine that marine gets parasited automatically.

    Slot 1: Poison bite, this would DoT (damage over time) the marine, about 2hp a second but permanent unless the marine gets welded.

    Slot 2: Cloaking and Silence, the creature can use a bit of its energy to cloak and silence itself at the same time.

    Slot 3: Poison sting, this would DoT (damage over time) the marine but very harshy, the marine would take about 50 dmg the first tick and then 5dmg a second every tick after that unless welded, also this disease spreads if marines come into contact with other marines and infects those other marines at 5dmg a second.

    Slot 4: Command, the creature makes a leap at a marine instantly killing the marine but leaving the body alive and able to be taken over by the creature. Basically you can walk around in the marine body and use whatever weapons the marine had at that time along with the marine upgrades to damage other marines, however, you hold your original hp and armor totals (50,10), but also, you can pickup medpacks to heal yourself.

    Alien hive queen:

    Once a third hive is obtained by the kharaa army, the third hive slowly molts to become the hive queen (5 minutes after third hive is complete). The queen is controlled by the alien with the highest score.

    Hive queen:

    Health: 3000/1500 (at hive 1 it has 6000 health, at hive 2, it has 6750, and at hive 3 it has 7500 health)

    Moves at 250 units/second. Abou the same size as a normal hive (based on the picture and it is, after all, a hive).

    This is the 3rd hive, technically, since the 3rd hive is no longer at its normal place. It can gestate upgrades, but cannot change species unless it is destroyed. Has the same hitox as a hive, also.

    Special abilities: Can walk up walls. Also heals nearby aliens at a rate of 15% health/second. Spawns aliens at the rate of a normal hive. Provides a 20% celerity boost, a 40% boost in energy gain, a 25% boost in RoF for any aliens within 750 units of it (sensory chambers range).

    Hive 0 attack: Impale: 250 damage. RoF: .33/second. The hive queen strikes a marine with one of it's claws with shocking force. Unfortunately, it takes time to regain balance, and strike again. Uses 15% energy.

    Hive 1 attack: Bacterial Spray: Used like health spray, only is fitted to match the HQs size. Any Non-HA marine inside of the bacterial spray takes 40 damage/second. It lasts for 3 seconds. Uses 20% energy. RoF: .63/second.

    Hive 2 attack: Babblers: The HQ speeds up its spawning process and sends out skulks with only 50 health (they are AI). These skulks will attempt to kill any marine or marine structure within its path. (sorry, no explosion like with the other babblers...) Uses 30% energy. RoF: .4/second.

    Hive 3 attack: Rebirth: The large sack on the hive queens back opens and releases 10 skulks. These skulks are stronger than the babbler skulks. Each skulk has about 8 shots worth of health (80 health or 70/5 health). Each skulk with attempt to kill nearby marines, and marine structures. This attack is only used as a last resort, it seems, as the HQ cannot move after releasing the skulks for 10 seconds. Uses 100% energy. RoF: 1 every 2 minutes.

    Hey all, well after reading about 28 pages of the 30 something i have seen a great amount of ideas, Deunun great drawings you really know how to draw and your style suites the NS alien theme. But ffom all the alien ideas i have seen i have seen a great lack of a more advanced ranged alien than the gorge, so far most are combat based, sure the aliens are combat based but people may want a more advanced shooter alien which isnt just there to heal and build. So hears my idea, at the moment i got no pictures but if i can ill get one up, feel free to draw them up your self if you like them.
    My idea does somewhat resemble the "Queen" alien picture which someone drew i think it was Deunun. So my idea would look similar to the that except with a bio cannon on its back, similar looking to the openings in the hive.
    Any way here is my first idea.

    Name: Biovore
    Purpose: Heavy ranged attack/ support combat aliens
    Speed: Slow, similar to the gorge
    Size: As big as an onos or hive
    Health: Very High, more than onos
    Automatic Abilities:
    - can climb walls, only because it would be fun to try hide when you are this big, and fun to get kills from above.
    - Transport, I dont know how this would work in NS but somehow the biovore could work as transport, like alien players go up to it and press 'e' and get in it pretty much to protect them from harm, then when its in combat they press 'e' to get out so when marines see i giant biovere coming around the corner, since it aint any threat in close combat they will start attacking it, then something like 5 lerks or skulks get out, big surprise. Cant hold onos or other biovores.

    Perhaps the biovere could act like a sub species of gorge, you have to be gorge before you can get it, and it would cost alot of resources or on the deathmatch levels without the buildings perhaps 4 or 3 level points.

    Hive attacks:
    0 Hives- Bio-acid: Pretty much a similar looking attack to the fades 3 hive ability but more powerful say 40 damage. Resonably fast attack rate. Low enery consumption.
    1 Hive- Glodule: Digestive Acids: Pretty much works like a flamer for close combat, except with green acid stuff, 28 damage per a second. Very fast attack rate. Low energy consumption
    2 Hives- Spore artillary: Fires a larger version of the gorges 2 hive ability, except it can harm marines for 85 damage in a large area, it then on impact releases 4 spores which work like moving proxi mines to finish the job, they can be shot to explode aswell, when they do explode they each deal 15 damage in a small area. Slow attack rate, high energy consumption.
    3 Hives- Genocide: Works like a much more powerful and bigger version of the skulks genocide, can harm buildings, and when it does genocide all the aliens which were transporting in it are released un harmed. 450 damage, requires all energy and delayed explosion, perhaps to give marines a warning the fat Biovore could start to glow faintly green.

    I came up with this so that the aliens have a powerful ranged attacker, since they already have a powerful combat attacker, gives players more choice in playing style.

    Wow I'm glad so many of you guys liked that picture. Thanx for the Love. I know I've been away for awhile but I'll start posting some stuff here again soon. I've read some of your suggestions and checked out alot of the posts and have been inspired. Right now I'm working on an Indiana Jones story with a bunch of other artists and it should be done very soon.     This isn't as detailed as that queen drawing but I thought it came out alright. I used the concept by Viroxide where there was a cannon type of weapon on the creature's back. I imagined it moving like a dog only with a little more leap action.

    Deuned thanks for using my idea to sketch one up, looks great, i imagened it being slightly more obiese and bulbus, but non the less a great drawing, and the cannon fits the alien theme perfectly, the face however doesnt too much, it reminds me of the green slimer ghost in ghostbusters, but other than that its great.

    Ok heres another idea, and if anyone wants to draw it *cough*Deunen*cough* please feel free.

    No idea what it would be called, but ill explain what it looks like in my mind and then you can interpretet it however you want.

    Appearence: Small creature that walks on many limbs, 4 weak hind legs to carry the bulk of the body, and 2 strong front limbs to hold support rest of the body. Doesnt really have a disquinshed seperation between head and body, the hind of the body is a bloated skin sac filled with organs for producing spore mines. The head is close to the ground and extends only slightly from the bottom of the spore chamber body.
    Size: As big as a skulk if not smaller.
    Speed: Fast, very fast
    Health: Similar to that of a gorge
    Purpose: Mine layer equivelant
    Automatic Abilities:
    -Climbs walls

    Hive abilities:
    O hives: Bite- bites target with its multiple jaw structured mouth dealing 35 damage, consumes low amounts of energy high attack speed.

    1 hive: Senory gland- creates a small sensory gland inside the spore chamber of the creatures body and plants it on a wall, when enemies aproach the gland it creates a large blue image on all alien players screens (big blue scent of fear graphic), has low health say 50, and consumes medium energy. Has maximum number per a area limit like web.
    *Important* at all times on the players screen which is controlling the creature which placed the sensory glands, on their screen appears a purple scent of fear showing the location of all sensory glands placed, which changes size depending on distance from the creature as does scent of fear.

    2 hives: Slash- Using the 2 strong front limbs one after another quickly swapping support of the body between limbs, the alien attacks enemies dealing 50 damage with each slash, 2 slashes with one attack, however it also slows the alien for 2 seconds. Low energy consumption.

    3 hives: Bio mine- The sensory glands which the creature can create within its bloated body also contain a variety of chemicals, when triggered these chemicals combine and create a deadly explosion dealing 200 damage to nearby enemies and structures, to activate looks directly at a sensory gland and click the mouse button. Medium energy consumption.
    *Important* the glands can be detonated by looking at them through walls aswell, unlimited detonation range.

    I like this creature because if used proplerly he is very good and helpful for the team, setting up sensory detectors to detect intruders, and if the player gets scent of fear upgrade they can easily tell when players are near sensory glands, and then detonate them acordingly, a stategic alien <!--emo&:D--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/biggrin.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='biggrin.gif' /><!--endemo--> , brings a new element to the game.

    Feel free to draw it or come up with names for it, and please tell me what you think of it.

    Somehow i dont think that Games Workshop would like you stealing basically one of their characters. This basically isn't your idea mate,changing the wording around a bit and creating a new ability or two doesn't make it yours. So if you are gonna steal ideas from other places at least acknowledge where you got em from.

    I'm going to describe deunens newest drawing:

    Name: Friggle-fraggin (lol I don't have a name for it...).

    Specializes in long-range attacks. It is verydurable, taking almost as much damage as a fade does to kill. Also is the base assaulter until an Onos comes along. Special ability: The friggle-fraggin will leap impressive distances. When it leaps, its speed is tripled. To leap, press the jump key. This uses 5% energy. Leaps about 2/3 as far as a skulk's leap.

    165 units/second. It is about 2 times the size of a skulk. Costs 50 resources. 165/200 health. Gains 33.3 armor with each level of carapace.

    Hive 0 attack: Bite: The friggle-fraggin voraciously snaps its jaws shut. Of course, this is only used when the marine gets close, but when it happens will do 125 damage. RoF: .66/second. Uses 10% energy.

    Hive 1 attack: Acid Spray: Uses 25% energy/second. Sprays up to 5 meters away from it, the spray is about 1 meter wide and 1 meter tall.. Any marine inside the spray will take 75 damage/second (remember Onos charge does 320 damage/second). Does 1/3 damage to structures.

    Hive 2 attack: Baterial Sludge Rocket (BS rocket): Uses 3% energy/shot. RoF: 2.75/second. Shoots a projectile about 1/2 the size of a fade Acid Rocket. This has a 250 unit splash. Anyone inside the splash will take 10 damage. Also, any marine that gets hit will be covered with sludge. Bacterial Sludge slows the marine down by 25%. However, this is removed by the nanites in a matter of 30 seconds. Does not stack. This attack does double damage to structures. Structures will slow down in all of their processes by 25% when hit by this (gaining resources, firing, researching, phasing...) . Does not stack. After a marine or structure is sludged, and is freed, it has a 30 second period of time where it cannot be sludged. This is because of all of the nanites already being there (and to prevent extreme imbalance). This only lasts for 15 seconds on structures. The splash is colored a dark green.

    Hive 3 attack: Stun Bomb: Uses 33% energy. RoF: .67/second. Shoots a projectile like BileBomb. Has a 325 unit splash. The bomb is made of a substance that halts all human reactions for a short time. This circulates through the body with extreme speed, but is also removed within a short time by the nanites. Any marine inside the splash will be stunned for 1.25 seconds. Perfect if you want to go in and bite the marines, or if you want to acid spray them.

    Basically it would be a very small bug, like a spider with only 50hp and 10armor. Basically it would be about half the size of a headcrab and very poisonous.

    well one of Deunen's drawings was sitting on my HD for along time.. one day i decided to color it, but didnt feel like spending a ungodly amount of time coloring it =D 15 minute project or so. not that bad though eh? eh? eh?! ^_^
