Oh, and I retract my previous statement about killing being useless. All you need is a shotgun, since you'll find ten shotgun shells before you find your first shotgun. It's basically as effective as a pistol: same accuracy to start, twice the damage, but only 1 shell before you need to reload. You'll probably also find twenty pistol clips before you get your first shotgun shell, so you get a backup.

So I noticed at level ten you can buy a skill that takes away all a zombies experience when you kill them, but leaves their skills.
My thoughts? They should've introduced this to all zombies' deaths, not just deaths from level 10 uberhumans. Zombies need a better reason to get digestion <!--emo&:p--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/tounge.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='tounge.gif' /><!--endemo-->
Update: I'm holed up in Yagoton, near a "Bale Mall." Currently i'm in a NecroTech building, alone. I will investigate the Mall tomorrow, but there seems to be an unhealthly amount of dead surrounding it. Oh well, more work for the DNA Extractor. I should probably learn how to loot better, I can't ever seem to find anything around here without wasting much time...
Thankfully I've got my hands around a nice shotgun, along with two shells! Even though I don't know how to shoot well, I'm sure with time i'll learn how to work this contraption.

Maybe I'm just not accounting for certain factors:
Shotgun needs 4 AP to do a maximum possible 20 damage (2 turns to load, 2 turns to shoot), with each shot having a 30% chance.
Pistol needs 4 AP to do a maximum possible 20 damage (if it's already fully loaded, 4 turns to shoot), with each shot having a 30% chance.
If you miss once with the shotgun, you just blew 1/2 of your damage of your 2 shots. If you miss once with the pistol, you lost 1/4 of the damage.

if you canget to Peppardville, Keirl Towers (71, 47) I need one <!--emo&:D--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/biggrin-fix.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='biggrin-fix.gif' /><!--endemo-->
I moved one sq left, so I am right next to Keirl Towers
Eh... I'm kinda far off at the moment. I'm at Huntley Heights (general area) It'll require me about 40 moves to get to where you're at. I'm all out of moves today. <!--emo&:(--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/sad-fix.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='sad-fix.gif' /><!--endemo-->
Waii! I finally found a fireaxe :3 I've also found lots of zombies!!! :D
I noticed 5 of them were eating someone so i ran in and slapped one of my 6 first aid kits on the guy and ran out... now I wait in the shadows for my AP to build so I can bring forth the fireaxe-age!!! XD
Oh and I got a DNA extractor; shame I don't know how to use it yet ~eyes necrotech skill~
Ok... i'm stupid. I didn't realise that searching multiple times can yield different results. I kind of assumed my guy would be smart enough to look until he'd searched every inch of the place for something useful, but obviously not...
nil, it helps if you think of action points as time... so when you 'search' you're only searching for 1 action point. The longer you search the more nooks and crannies you might or might not find with fun stuff in them :3
I'm wondering, how often do you get Zombies that can open doors? Am I safe inside a Musem, surrounded by around five zombies at various but nearby blocks? What if I rest overnight inside the musem, say around 24 hours? Am I very likely to be attacked??? I'm alone too...
Crotalus, it's best to find some other people nearby in the same room. If not, at least try to go into a room that zombies would least move into (nameless building, try to avoid hospitals, etc).
Yes, there's an upgrade that allows zombies to open doors and go in. Chances are that whoever gets it would get other upgrades first (like higher percentage of hitting). And as far as I know, it doesn't allow all zombies in, just that one zombie.
Thansal, I'm almost there <!--emo&:D--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/biggrin-fix.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='biggrin-fix.gif' /><!--endemo--> I'm at the Hollbrook Motel (Mr Manta), 52, 45.
dunno really crot... but if it helps your peace of mind any; people indoors can't be seen unless you're inside the building too or the zombie has that weird scent ability and you're hurt/got attacked by them :o
Generally I make sure I have enough AP points when I move so that I always end in a zombie-free area (they're not on my map and I ain't on theirs :p ).

Am I safe inside a Musem, surrounded by around five zombies at various
but nearby blocks? What if I rest overnight inside the musem, say around
24 hours? Am I very likely to be attacked??? I'm alone too...
my necrotech career consists of:
1) Leave building
2) run around getting zombie DNA
3) Enter new building
my zombo career consists of:
1) stand somewhere
2) attack any humans in the area
3) move if someone in adjecent tile

Edit:
I found a GPS navigator. Handy little tool! (for my scientist, though)
I found it inside a Necrotech building.
