    I highly doubt I would be that calm if I was one of his friends. I'd probably say something along the lines of "Where the hell are you taking us, what is this crap, why is he not moving" instead of just going along with it and barely looking concerned at all.

    And how did he put him in the "trance" the second time around? That's never really explained.

    Yes.

    He hid little mental cues in one of his shows to make the audience and viewers forget each part of the show after they'd seen it.... and it freaking worked! I couldn't remember a thing about the entire show (and this was directly after i'd watched it) until I watched it again the next day.

    well supposedly that clip isn't the full thing. They cut out the bit where they take their friends aside and explain what's happening.

    Derren's a master of mental trickery; he pulls off crazy stuff to freak people out and he does work on psychology to find out how to really mess with the way people work using subtle signals and effects :o

    That was what I was thinking. I mean, all the UK people here seemed to recognize the guy. And those kids were around our age, sort of. So they may be the right demographic to have seen his show. I guess if some famous guy came up to me and was like, hey let's play a trick on your friend on tv; yes/no? I'd be like HELLS YEAH. So it really isn't all that odd. IF you don't know the guy, then no.

    This I realise. But it gives me an excuse to hurt him.

    That's how his career will end, bloody and in a gutter, after trying to convince a hard-as-nails bloke to hand over his mobile phone. He's good at what he does, he'd get the phone. Then the bloke would realise and come back, game over man. Game over.
