Mmmm I finally hit Merc today. Sorta nice, cause now I have a skill that acts like a Lv 4 Brandish, without having to chain it (it IS a starter though)

I'm gonna hit 16, then take the crazy flying test so I can fly <!--emo&:p--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/tounge.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='tounge.gif' /><!--endemo-->
But then again...I'm not sure if you can fly with a broom first, or a board. I bought a board early on in case I end up spending all my money on equipment (which I prolly will do) and it says I have to be Lv 20 before I can use it.

I guess we all start with ze broom?

Welp, as Haisho found out, no flying till lvl 20.

the FIRST fly test is lvl 16, second is lvl 18, 3rd (and last) is lvl 20

Some are probably wandering what the heck PXP is for. Well....short explanation.

PXP is used to level up certain skills (should I say most skills?)
When this happens (you use a skill that uses PXP) the PXP bar will decrease, and it WILL take your EXP to refill the bar.
Once PXP is reduced to 0%, skills will not gain any EXP at all until you kill a monster to regain PXP. You also don't regain any EXP if the monster doesn't supply more than enough EXP to refill the PXP bar.
This is probably to deter people from spamming skills in one single location *cough*

Ninja edit: The game servers seem to be down, so I'm guessing that it's related to this. In addition, the names are case-sensitive, and the game also makes all handles lowercase by default. If you know me, I ALLWAYS cap Redford, if only by force of habit.


This is a very good example of how a lot of unrelated issues can combine into an unexpected problem, I think.

is mage any good? once I go mage, do I put all points into int?

what are those 'collectors' for - the gizmos that that one vendor sells? I bought one for 3k and it says I can't use it til lvl 20 anyway...

how does one upgrade items? I found a green die-type object that's apparently for upgrades, but I don't know how to use it at that armor merchant.

what's the point of techniques when my regular attacks seem to do more damage than them, even when they're leveld up?

are magician, mercenary, and assist the 3 first classes and the others (ringmaster, billposter, etc) the next upgrades after those?


...maybe when the server comes back up, they'll have implemented some translated help files and stuff :>

also, on a tangent...

why DO these Korean games have such bad Engrish? I know their budgets must be tight but I'm sure someone would be willing to translate (or polish up the translations) for free...

Only answering those I have any knowledge about here:
1. Pretty much. Though you might want to put a few in Dex so that you can hit the more nimble monsters more than once a week.

2. From what I've seen... after you kill an EronsCatcher (the really big blue buggers that don't attack and give no xp upon death), you can "vacuum" it's remains with such a collector. I don't know what this is for yet, but it's probably important.

3. If you hadn't put all your points in STR, they would do more damage than your ordinary attacks.

4. Yep!

5. I don't think they actually realize that their English aint too hot...

Time to throw in my vast knowledge of post-20s XD

First off, you can only start flying your board/broom when you are 20. However, the final quest can be done a Lv 19. If you bring the broom parts to Tina she'll make you a broom.

Secondly, the monsters ramp up in difficulty INSTANTLY. If Nyangnyangs were hard at Lv 18, Bangs will be a nightmare. To further prove my point....
Take my once Lv 18 Merc, pit him against a Bang. Best bet is that I'd die from just 1 critical if I have less than 200 health. Yes, it's that bad.
And to make matters worse, the difficulty of the monsters jump yet <b>again</b> at Lv 25, starting with Mr Pumpkins. From there, I highly recommend partying with an Assist.

And finally....there is a quest that gives EXP. And is free of monster-killing. And it can be done indefinitely. It's called the Letter From Tina quest (ingame it says Letter <u>To</u> Tina, but that's Engrish on their behalf <!--emo&:p--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/tounge.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='tounge.gif' /><!--endemo--> )
And to top it off....the NPC you have to deliver the item to isn't that far away if you're flying.

All it involves is talking to Tina at the flying station (big elevated place) and choose Recent Conditions > YES_(insert jibberjabber here) and delivering the letter to Karin/Kalin (the food shopkeeper)
Best thing is that the EXP is better than killing monsters until you hit Level 32. Yes, level 32, it can take you THAT far while monsters would have you constantly buying restoration items.
Oh, and the quest also gives 500 Penya per trip, so it's also a nice way to cover expenses for stuff like FP potions <!--emo&:p--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/tounge.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='tounge.gif' /><!--endemo-->

EDIT :
Thansal : Assists are VERY needed later on. They also can cast buffs that last like...10 minutes. Seriously. A high-levelled Assist buffed me with Quickstep and it lasted for 10 minutes.

The cast time on Heal is seriously fast, the heal amount is enough that I can easily fill up a 600 hp toon in one (possibly 2) shots.

Just remember how much you normaly munch heal items, then realize that an assist can keep you away from them <!--emo&:p--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/tounge.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='tounge.gif' /><!--endemo-->

If youre still a vagrant you'll want tons of str with a minimum of other stats. Pure str works too.

As for Chimpy's question, a Knight should have STA and STR. Blades are the ones that require DEX. Of course, I did tell you about that really painful experience on the other continent....
