I'd prefer a "who can design the most lifelike skulk/gorge/lerk/fade/onos" competition.
Imagine it. A race of intelligent gorges, happily nuking the crap outta less advanced civilizations. SOLD.
well, I don't think it would be hard to make a fade... a skulk with its spike legs might be difficult. gorgey might have difficulty attacking things. Onoes is probably doable. But a lerk... can we make flying creatures? I saw some things that flew in this picture: There on the left side. So maybe it can be done...
edit: how about we make a walking alien res tower?

If some planet doesn't like my UFO coming down, I'm going to settle there anyway and wage a brutal war on the ground and in the air. Maybe make friends with other cities and see if I can get them to gang up on the one that attacked me.

which brings up the question can you go through the whole evolution system underwater? notice how in the demonstration the creature "evolved" to walk on land. well, why can't the creature just evolve better and better underwater mmh? no one ever mentioned evolving and underwater civilization, though i would imagine you could do force-evo an underwater civilization if you wanted to.
and also now that i think about it, a walking alien res tower would look SUPER AWESOME
Looking at the evolution thingy you get the choice to add things like arms or legs or all that good walking stuff, so more then likely... Ill say theres a 120% chance you can remain underwater.
I am having trouble even thinking of waiting over a year for this...
I hope they give us a teaser... like one of the editors, just to play around with.
yeah, I bet he decided to go to land to facilitate the switch to space and show the city etc. He said we could make underwater cities with those bubbles over them, maybe they'll let us make cities on the sea floor. He also noted we can make underwater vehicles. It's all there, I don't see how we could not make them, though we would be restricted a bit in our colonies... perhaps we can make space colonies with bubbles over them that are filled with water.

Like he said when you encounter another planet of aliens you download what that player created and a computer takes over? no no Diablus, it's never player vs player, you just download (automatically) other player's creations (their creatures) and the computer decides where to put them and how they should act, just like it would calculate how your creatures act when you set them on "auto". so everything another player makes will populate your universe, and everything you make will populate his

edit: Spears from above! ATTACK!
edit2: and now that I think about it, since they have that 3d movement ability... who says the doors on the buildings need to be at ground level?
If I can make them carnivores, so much the better, it'd be fun to see them run.
