Gem, I'm Fumbletoes, not Fumblefingers! Aaaah! Fumblefingers wouldn't fit, so I considered just "Fingers" but that would've sounded too weird.
EDIT: Also, can we have a "common password" that any NS server will use, in case they decide they don't want random players? So that people from the NS forums can join any NS game using the password listed here?

If things work out how I'd like, my brother might be going away this weekend so I might be able to use his computer. Hopefully I'll be able to get my computer fixed by the end of this week, then maybe I can play just using that. If I can, I'll be on quite a bit more.
It sucks that I was the one who made this whole thread, and I seem to be the only one who can't play it. :/ Waited for like 2/3 weeks for it too.
I think it might be my network card, plus some other problems with my computer. Hopefully I can straighten this out soon. I hate not being able to play.
The worst part is that I can't run with my gamecube controller... They need like a joypad sensitivity option or something.
Okay, seems like they totally revamped the Section IDs like Gem said earlier. It seems they reworked EVERYTHING about section IDs since I'm not getting any mentioned Whitill rares yet.... Of course, I haven't necessarily reached a good place to collect such things
On a side note though, I have a Trigrinder on the HUmar and a Photon Drop on the RAcast. How the heck did I manage to get a Photon Drop anyway?
Ohh, and if I randomly leave for some reason when we're playing, it's because of the lousy router. Yes it's still the same old one back in the Maple Story days =X
EDIT : I was thinking of something like Onos or Pirates for the passwords =X fhqwhgads?

I'm quite fond of "pirates" myself, although some other people have been using "ninjas" and that's ok. Remember that the passwords are case sensitive, so whatever we choose, it should be all lower case.

Haha, I am registered now. : ) Downloading the installer ATM. (I had to file-planet it, because the official mirrors were down.) Anyone want to give me some noob tips or anything? (Or suggest classes?) I already read through the entire guide on the site. X_X
- try and figure out the 3 hit combo system before you get into your first fight. It's easy enough :3
- You have 2 attacks with a melee or ranged weapon; fast and heavy (there's also a third but you don't need to know about that for now as none of the weaps you find early on have it).
Fast is the 'normal' attack with good speed and accuracy as well as normal damage. Heavy is the hard-hitter with a delayed animation making it slower as well as having a lower accuracy.
If you remember the accuracy difference it's possible to take advantage of this using an additional piece of info about comboing; Each hit of a combo is more accurate than the last. This means your first hit is the most likely to miss while your third is most likely to hit. Therefore it's best to start with a fast attack and then use a heavy on your 2nd or 3rd or maybe even not at all based on how easy you're finding it to hit the enemy.
This increase in accuracy can also be used by setting up a combo before the enemy is in range; you start before they reach you so that when they finally close the distance they walk into your 2nd or 3rd attack.
- PSO is a game of real-time collisions. All the enemies have certain habits and attack patterns you can learn and use to dodge them. For example a booma will strike with it's right paw so by running to it's right you can avoid the hit (while running left will keep you within the sweep arc). This is especially true of hildebears.
- Wolves only attack if they see your back. They try to circle you and will let you smack them as long as they don't get a glimpse of their back; they do a very quick pounce animation which is just enough time to move out of the way if you know what you're doing.
- Rappys play dead. When you 'kill' them they'll fall and stay there. If you move a certain distance away from them or a long period of time passes they'll get up and make a run for it. If you can hit them while they do this it's pinyata time; they drop stuff when you whack em :3 Also don't hit rappies from too far away or they'll run without even fighting and you'll get no items at all :p
- The foie technique is a projectile (probably the only real projectile in the game player-wise). As such it's possible for the enemy to move out of the way sometimes; wolves are especially bad for this from a distance. close up to get near then and slap them with it directly in the face :3
- If you're not a Cast/Caseal learn the enemy element resistances. While the difference isn't huge at normal difficulty it ramps up drastically in the higher ones. An example of weaknesses is tha the best thing to hit a booma with is foie, a gobooma is zonde and a gigobooma is barta.
- if you ARE a cast/caseal you have some very handy traps on you. You replenish your stock of them by visiting the hospital. To access them hold ctrl and press 'up' then press ctrl again until you see a trap menu. They're extremely powerful but can't be used in boss-fights so don't become too reliant on them.
There is something inherently sinister about a game who's menus alone make me say "I like this.." out loud. Also, are the servers down, or do I have firewall issues? (Don't believe I have *any* ports blocked at the moment, so it's doubtful.)
Edit: By the way, thanks for the newbie tips, guys. : )

A tip on weapons: Eventually you will start coming across "enchanted" weapons such as a "Bind saber" or a "Heart rifle", whether you find them in the field as "??? Weapons" (which can be identified Cain style by a tekker) or see them in the weapon shop. These weapons have a special attack with an effect that varies according to the name of the weapon.
You can use this attack by going to "Customize" in the menu and setting it to a hex, however, you shouldn't do this. Every last one of the special attacks for these "enchanted" weapons are completely useless. Don't even think about using them seriously. These weapons are way overpriced and not worth buying (although this does make the ones found in the field a valuable source of income).
What you should be looking for in a weapon is its photon efficiency against what you're going to use it against. You can see the photon efficiency ratings by selecting the weapon and pressing ctrl a few times. 15% vs Natives means that it is 15% more effective vs everything in the forest.
Note: These "enchanted" weapons are seperate from "rares" (you'll know them when you see them). Although rares usually have one of these useless special attacks tacked on, some of them have some very useful unique attacks. You should try out every rare you find, even if its superficial stats are lower than those of your current weapon.

gem you completly blew by my previous post where i said i play a Hucaseal named Saku. Add me to the list! Although the servers being destroyed don't leave us with much ability to play at the moment.
What Pulse said. Unless you got a King's Saber or something they're generally not really useful.
I lost my Saber +3 with 15% Photon efficiency against Natives to a rollback >:( Now I'm forced to use a Panic Brand with 10% Photon efficiency against Natives (which is somehow better than a Saber +3....thankfully)
And the servers really are being hammered like mad. I either get the server full or can't connect to server o.O Honestly I didn't expect that to happen =X

A brand is better than a saber because it's the next generation of sabers. Basically, it's a saber that does more damage and is more accurate. Eventually you will start finding busters, which are better than brands.
Every weapon type uses this system, so it's probably important to know. The names aren't important, just use the colours. All basic weapons like sabers and pistols are green, while weapons that belong to the next tier are blue, such as brands and assaults and so on for the next (purple) and on and on and on.

Onos was ok I guess... how about tsa?
edit: wait... align's a RAmarl? A female human ranger? :o
I use 'waii' for my password so if I'm running a game that'll be it :p
Name: Lanfear (female force user thingy)

The common password most of us use is either ninja or pirates.
It's updating ATM.
Stick and move! Nothing worse than getting surrounded by Boomas without a weapon that is capable of hitting multiple enemies.
And just make the room name...somehow NS related instead of adding an [NS] tag =X
I use NSPlayer myself, then Aldaris started using it too.
EDIT : And currently there is a bug which allows you to gain levels VERY quickly....so don't use it or Sega will pretty much ban you or something +X
