Emulator + roms = every game you want for any system (usually genisis or older work) online. I even played starfox 2, which was never released (quite sucks too, good game) on a emulator. I played top gear often with my friends when we have nothing to do. Nothing brings back memories like that game <!--emo&:D--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/biggrin-fix.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='biggrin-fix.gif' /><!--endemo--> I remember playing it when I was little with my friends, now I play it with the same friends who live miles away any time I want. Yes, emulators and roms ARE LEAGAL if you have the original cartrage, which you can pick up for about 5 bucks at the local pawn shop.

I'm trying out The Legend of Zelda right now. It doesn't load at all in Firefox. In IE the direction buttons don't respond very well (as in, you can end up standing still for several seconds while you get shot at, or walking straight into a wall if you were walking when it stopped responding).

Edit: Apparently it works better with the IBM Java Virtual Machine than with the Sun Java Virtual Machine, which is why it is virtually unplayable in IE.

    ...

    ALL THESE YEARS...

All these years I've been wondering what the hell those stars are for in Mike Tyson's Punch Out...

All these years I"ve been simply left and right punching...

All these years I never knew you had a super uppercut thing...

All these years, to find out from a web based java NES emulator...

    All these years...

Nope... ROMs are not legal ever.

PS: Damn, DOOM... I can't decide if you suck or it's bad luck.

Technically you can use roms if you make them yourself with a dumper, but it's not like anyone here has one of those.

The "If you own the game you can download the rom" and "You can download any rom as long as you delete it within 24 hours" myths are really weird, I mean, why are they so widely proliferated? They're pretty obviously fake, especially the second one.

I used to believe that... But alas, I was young and didn't know better!
