    I recall a rather significant period of 2.0 clan play where many rounds would end with "gg 2.0". And that was some of the best.

    Can someone refresh my memory.

    What specifically was it about 2.01 that made it the better than beta3.xx?

    It had the old armour system, so you would die with armour left if not healed. This was a good thing IMHO, meant that redemption actually WORKED for example, made carapace much better than regen meaning gorgies healing helped a lot. Also more realistic, as who only brings enough body armour so it is worn out compleatly before you die? surely you would bring extra, so if you were healed you could still have some amour?

    Lerks had spikes, so shotgunners would die to them fairly easily from a long range. Spikes+spores let lerks have some real power before fades showed up. OCs could be used to block Phasegates next to an elec TF, meaning that elec TF + PG wasn't such a "need regen fade" thingy. I think allowing gorges to block PGs serisouly balanced PGs..now they are just telefraging shotgun spawning disks of death!

    Stomp also did a much larger time, so ONOS could take on more than 2 marines at once. Fades died really easily to good LMG/shottie aim, but meant that HMGs didn't hit them with so many bullets.

    HA could be spored, Jetpacks could be stomped... I think the res system was the same, although marine RTs cost more than alien ones I think, which was fairer as they have tons more HP and can be elec.
