At the moment I'm with making the zombies the CTs, because it's really harder to start as a T (plus the dualies>Five-seven...plus the FAMAS basically desroys them if you can aim (I mean, crosshairs at head level+3round burst = at least 7 kills, usually more)...while Galil and AK47 really can start flying all over if you get a lot of zombies at once and you need to retreat while firing.
Anyway, I had the new map started...it just...looked like crap, so I'm starting over, going for an invested city-streets type feel, but the zombie-craze will likely be long dead by the time I get anything presentably/professionally done.

If the server is down it's probably because hopelessness assumed the novelty had worn off, which it had to some degree, most of the old regs had gotten bored. If I see him I'll try to convince him to put it back up, since it seems the whole zombie thing has gotten a second wind.
I found out the best map to fight zombies would be terrorist zombies in CS_Office and you are the CT. Its fun to rescue hostages, and what's better still is that part of the map is cramped and there are so many corners. You never know when you might turn a corner and see 10 zombies facing you. You whip out your Ak, shoot like crazy, screaming in fear and retreat, and last resort, you whip out your pistol.
Suddenly, you can't retreat anymore, you turn and "****!!!" and no wonder, you have reached a wall, and the other 10 zombies are around you as the 10 from before are still charging at you.
I 've had that happened to me. In the end, I only killed a miserable 6.
Well, if the server was down, it was just my internet connection going down. If you couldn't tell by the ping, it's just a cable connection. As for taking the server down, I'll probably keep it up until I find some better use for the box, meaning it should be up indefinitly, short of everyone completely losing interest in it. As always, password is 'nub' and probably won't change.

Frick, hopeless is running prodigy right now and man that map is hard. Its a hard race to beat the zombies to any good position, and given a minute they will almost always find a way to flank you. I had some great REesk moments with a couple other guys guns blaring in both directions in the slight hope of just opening up a path to run one way or the other. Great times!

it was hilarious, there were these CTs stuck together, and I told chrono to knife them. and then he goes in, knifes one, but of course, once one is dead, the other is free, and that one kills chrono. So we're in the same room, the CT bomb thing, and so I move to the back of the room to avoid getting shanked myself, when suddenly I find myself losing health. It turns out there was another stuck pair behind me, so I moved as far away as I could, and I killed the one that killed chrono. so, I moved back (slowly, very slowly) to the doorway, to find some sort of clever way to kill them, when I decided to throw a grenade. The grenade never left my hand, I was backstabbed.
I would add bots if my srcds would allow... I'm not using the in-Steam dedicated server, but the command-line based one. Anyone know why, when I add bots to the server, they're instantly kicked?

have you done mp_autobalanceteams 0 and mp_limitteams 20 ? Your bot_quota may also be too low, if you're only getting 20 people; but also keep in mind some maps don't have enough spawn points - and that limitteams only goes to 20 .
I played on Isamil's server for a bit, and if I didn't find a spot where i would be immune to zombies, I didn't win D:. 150+ ping didn't help either, and the rubbish prop physics.

supernorn you think you can maybe edit office next? like make the hallways almost pitch black cept for a few flashing lights and have only moonlight outside cept for like 1 street light? that way Ts can defend inside while the CT zombies try and storm for the hostages

You might not have noticed, but some of the barrels/chairs are converted to prop_physics. No more "look at me I'm stuck!" CS:S physics!

get a bit of that RE feeling in, there ARE safe spots, but they are far and few between.
