    You have to have a little bit of intelligence to play.

    Sorry, that was a low blow. It's a hybrid First Person Shooter/Roleplaying game, although it's really not much of a first person shooter. You have to option to be in first person or third person, and you're a vampire from one of many clans. After customizing your skills and feats and what have you, you roam the amazingly well developed Vampire: The Masquerade universe doing RPG things, except everything is AWESOME because you're in Vampire: The Masquerade. The only real connection to Half-Life 2 is the engine: they're COMPLETELY different games.

    I hope they make the most of the facial expressions. It's a little thing, I know, but it really adds to the immersion. I'm majorly impressed by the characters in HL2.

    To quote the official website for Troika, who made the game:

    That's right. Vampire: Bloodlines was made by the same guys who made Fallout. And it's on the Source engine.

    It may not have HL2's multiplayer for extreme-long-term replay value, but singleplayer is very likely, if not guaranteed, to be better than HL2's.

    Wow, i didn't know that at all. Whilst it looked pretty, the only experience with anything V:TM is the first PC game that came out, whilst it was good, it was more like a 3d Diablo, really.

    However, the marriage of Fallout designers and the Source engine can only mean good things. <!--emo&:)--><img src='http://www.natural-selection.org/forums/html//emoticons/smile-fix.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='smile-fix.gif' /><!--endemo-->

    Minor addition: if you don't consider those 3 employees to be a good enough reason to be interested in Troika, here's <a href='http://www.filerush.com/download.php?target=vtm_bloodlines_movies.zip' target='_blank'>over 600 megs worth of dev-narrated preview video to see what character creation and some early missions are like</a>

    Wow, that was a hard one, let me know if I'm signifigantly off there Sub, you didn't give me much to work with.

    Anyways, Vampire is made by the same guys who used to work at Bioware, all you have to do is look at the graphics, you know this game is gonna rock!

    I played the first Vampire: The Masquerade Redemption. Well if this one is half as good as the first one, it's a winner.

    Same here. Only reason I bought HL2 today was because it was there and Bloodlines wasn't. >_< I freaking want Bloodlines.

    I too am getting Bloodlines, but I strongly doubt it can be better than HL2.

    The story will not be as good as Deus Ex for me, simply because it has vampires and is set in a gothic version of... LA, was it? That sucks IMO. I'm in it for the gameplay.

    Has any one bought this yet? I want it but I would like to know how heavy on the machine it is. I seem to manage the system specs but I don't want to play it in 3fps...
    My computer isn't the newest around so:
    amd 1700+
    768 meg ram
    ait 9700

    Really want it but not to all costs when there is hl2 that might actualy run on my rig without too much problems <!--emo&???--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/confused-fix.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='confused-fix.gif' /><!--endemo-->
    On the other hand, I did play Morrowind on a 400 MHz celeron and didn't get too frustrated <!--emo&:p--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/tounge.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='tounge.gif' /><!--endemo-->

    I am so screwed.

    I think I will finish playing HL2 first.

    @Okabore:
    well, if you can run HL2, they you can run this (same engine)

    To Tycho: Go ahead and say that. If you don't like aliens, New York, or Paris then go ahead and play DX for the gameplay. I'm just saying I don't like gothic settings or vampires, because, well, they're mythological creatures.

    The game has multiplayer, unless it was removed near the end of production.
