    I play on 100fps and 40- latency. Further you can hear if someone uses focus by his bite-speed.

    If you have focus you cant bite that fast.

    maybe he didnt have focus? maybe (this is a bit far) he was affected by primal?

    look. the only way to confirm this stuff is that you record your combat games. like this:

    (type in console)

    record demoname

    and when you want to stop, type stop.

    then go back to the demos, viewdemo demoname, and check for any oddities. if you find something fishy to you, send the demo to someone to let them evaluate it.

    Listen fellow, I´ve played this game since the release 1.00 and that´s quite a long time.

    Sure there have always been good players, also better than me, but the amount of players who do quite impossible things is tremendously rising.

    I may not have as much skill as some other players, but I definately have enough skill and expierience to see, who is a good player or who is simply a hacker.

    You can be good, but you will never bring your LMG to 25 damage per bullet. Or those guys with "sniper shotguns", firing every bullet with pinpoint accuracy over distance. I experienced that recently. As well as other strange happenings. Such thing also took place before, but they occur more and more often.

    Even when certain functions are locked that does not mean they cant be hacked.

    As for the rest, take a demo if you're convinced someone is hacking. Personally I find your arguments silly, seeing as how two bites and multiple bullets can land closely together easily - remember, the first bite will feel 'instant' if it lands, only the second will have an actual delay, hence the possibility for rapid death. Not to mention insta-kills when bit by 2 skulks at once.

    Anyway, without a demo I'd just assume you're criminally incompetent.

    Up untill 2.0 (when i left for a while) I saw maybe 3 people hacking in some way,
    Unfortunately i knew one of the guys, and thought he was good at the game, i wont mention names, but those of u that know him too, know he was found at a lan and had left his ports open, so someone found a "hook" on his HL dir.

    Since ive been back (less than a month) I have witnessed in spectator, double the amount, although only on combat servers; using aimbots (very obvious ones, seems to be the type that fires for you too).

    For the latest numbers i do blame the introduction of combat, bringing the attention of cheaters to NS. For NS maps there is no real need to cheat, but combats team deathmatch style means that its much more likely to attract those types (imho).

    Its a sad thing, and I never agreed with the game mode, even when playtesting 2.1 <!--emo&:(--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/sad-fix.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='sad-fix.gif' /><!--endemo-->

    I remember from my days of playing Jedi Knight online that something like the original poster's suggestion was actually commonplace... There were quite a lot of servers that were exclusively for "hackers." This was a game where you could simply alter a text file to give yourself godmode or make your pistol shoot concussion blasts or god knows what else in online games. People would turn on as many hacks as they could download and join these servers to fly around with godmode, spam the map with explosives, build forts out of spawned objects... And people say hacking in HL mods is easy.

    well the only hack that actually is availible to the typical o look i got it from a freee website hacker can only really use lambert and wallhack. which really dosent bother me cuz i have bright gamma and i hear them just as much as they can see me through a wall. [with the exception of silence but i do alot of 180's so im gonna be okay] if you get speed hacker obvously your gonna get then banned DUH! asn the whole aimbot thing for NS is hard to do unless you actually know how to make the hacks. I ve played since the beginig and only come across 2 speed hackers and they left as fast as they came.

    Easily because it would be too obvious.

    Does a demo visualy show, if someone uses an "overadjusted" brightness, in order to have no dark corners on any map? No!
    Does a demo visualy show, if the guy uses 3rd. Person? No!
    The problem with demo is that it maybe shows, what the other one is doing, but not his true sight.
    Maybe you can see if someone uses overspecialized keybinds, like leap and bite bound in one button press.
    But still demo does not solve everything.

    5 month ago my average kill/death ratio was 2,5 to 1, now it is vice versa, and I don´t think that I´ve gotten that worse.

    But I have to admit that maybe I am in disadvantage to other players, since I use no special keybinds like leap/bite in one or using an overtuned brightness to have no dark corners in order to see everything.

    IMHO these kind of "tuning" is also cheating, so I play with a normal configuration allowed by the regular options menu.

    You do realize that the LMG has a ROF of 10/1 right? and deals 10 dmg per bullet.
    If you have good enough aim you can kill a skulk in 9-13 bullets. Not to mention each lvl upgrade increases the dmg of each gun.

    so wait, we can take out brightening up the game so people with dark monitors or poor video cards can REALLY be left out. in fact we should remove all "tuning" aspects of the game and just make sure everyone has the EXACT SAME COMPUTERS. that would be ultra fair.

    OR we could leave these graphic tuning options PUBLIC (as they already are), so everyone can use them (just search around the forums for video optimization settings). because some people really do have bad monitors, and some people really do need to knock down their graphics detail to get higher fps. you're not morally superior by not using advantages that everyone else does.........................................

    Yes the LMG has a cycling rate of 600 rounds per minute, and the HMG is not much higher either. Some rines somehow have a higher cycling rate, maybe an effect of speedhack.
    But the LMG does also spray, not every shot has pinpoint accuracy. I experience that often, that even in close combat skulks seem not to be hit by a whole bullet-rain. At least not if I have them in my crosshair somehow.

    But if I the skulk somehow some players hit with every single bullet and some even deal more than 13 damage per bullet (LMG with level 3 upgrade), and marines with level 3 LMG are rare in combat mode and also appear only later on ns_maps. Also some players never lose track on other, either as skulk or as rine,
    may it be as hasty and confusing as it can be. Also rines running as fast as skulks are found on some servers

    Yesterday I made another funny experience by biting a AFK Rine as skulk.
    I bit him at least 7 times. Due to the "chewing-chopping" sound I know I did hit him with every single bite, but somehow it did not affect him much, although he was not wearing a heavy armor. Even with Level 3 armor upgrade a rine with normal armor is not likely to survive 7 skulk bites. He did not have resupply btw.

    I think you have not understood.

    Some people play with a level of brightness, which can not be set so high with the normal options menu.

    It´s like they turn shadows and darkness completly off. I saw counterstrike players doing the same ****. They could see in dark areas, where you are not supposed to see anything, may it be with a good or bad monitor or videocard.

    The shotgun spread is not random, and remains the same over distance up until its max distance. These people don't cheat, they just know where the pellets land. The inner five pellets can easily hit a skulk across a small room.

    You can gain ~10% faster rate of fire depending on your FPS. This works both ways, with your FPS being able to greatly reduce your rate of fire. Unless it is an ultra blatent emptying of an entire clip in a fraction of a second, he probably just has a "better" FPS than you do. I don't mean higher, as some of the most favourable FPS are on the lower end.

    Regarding people you think aim/ damage/ speed hack:

    the_move, it's easily possible as someone said before to kill skulks in 10-15 bullets - fewer with upgrades.

    lmg rate of fire is actually around 15-16 bullets per second...yes the manual is wrong if you use search im sure there are some threads on it.

    The spread of the lmg is really negligable even at medium range and it's quite possible for almost all bullets to hit. meaning death as skulk in almost 0.5sec in some cases, though not many obviously, it is however entirely possible.

    it's also possible to snipe with the sg using the modified crosshairs (also around on the forums somewhere) either at any range with one fragment or at medium range with the 5(?) central ones.

    It's also relativly easy for good skulk to time their bites and not miss marines by spamming around.

    It is possible for marines to go faster by default via several methods:
    - Bunnyhopping up slopes
    - Manual wigglewalking (130% boost)
    - Bunnyjumping on ground (again 130% boost)
    - Scripted wigglewalking (150% boost(?) )
    - Wallstrafing (150% boost)
    - Or they could just have recieved a cat pack :<

    Regarding your own play:

    I suggest demoing yourself as marine and skulk to see whether you really are tracking the target at all times..i suspect not.

    Other reasons you may have for not being able to kill skulks easily are poor rates or poor rates of the skulk you're firing at. Again there are many guides on these forums as to what rates should be on these forums, gogo search.

    Regarding other cheats:

    As people have mentioned is posts above the exploits you talked about have been blocked in previous versions, and to my knowledge most abusive exploits (if not all) arn't currently viable.

    Wallhacking accusations are also very iffy, you'd be surprised how easy it is to track skulk movements, even in completely seperate rooms by just sound. Though i have seen (one was in my clan) wallhackers, it's very difficult to tell if someone is using one or is just experienced (asin clanning for a long while, not just pubbing) and has some good headphones.

    Speedhacks are completely obvious, yes i've seen a few but often the people using them are there just to troll and freely admit they are hacking, (50mph knifing marines for example).

    Don't think i missed anything, but basically your posts are pretty much unfounded haxusations.

    Its hard to say that people hack in this game unless it is totally obvious because skilled players > not so obvious hacks.

    Though I would have to agree I dont like the "tweakability" that people are allowed to do currently some have good reasons for it while others dont. Lets try and leave it at that, I dont want any arguments. Its just my opinion.

    Yeah I feel like that too...and I have no idea other than shooting at the graphic to kill skulks.

    But what always bothered me is when I aim a skulk so good I feel like being a human aim-bot, but still don't make the kill.

    I did test aim-bots for ns, and the lmg spray does miss sometimes.

    Skill>Luck

    More skill when you already have skill < Luck

    Is it like that in all online fps's?
