Good old cs so many noobs are on this campus they refuse to play ns and play cs 24/7. There about 5 of us who were hardcore last year when we werent playing cs and we pwn them sometimes 45 wins to 1 on teams of 5 vs 8. Then they say you guys suck and when they get a luck headshot watch out! cause then your pwned didntcha know. My favorite quotes... from tonight "Hey you **** I was still buying a weapon" "Planting the bomb is such a cheap way to win" and "one ct left t's are dead they just barely planted....BOOM....next round..."So how do you defuse?" Especially assault, gotta love tonights lets either camp on the bridge or building next to ct spawn. Ah good old CS the game where you point click and you don't have to have a brain to get kills. Too bad cs:s is the only multiplayer part of HL2 currently..... Half-Life: Source was supposed to be released with HL2, just like CS:S. It'd be great if they finished it first and released it early too; I was planning on playing through HL1 again shortly before HL2 comes out, and it'd be nice to have a new experience.

I, for one, will be steering clear of Steam for buying HL2. To be honest, i'm not going to hang the posters, not going to wear the hat nor am i going to need the strategy guide, and for that time i need to install HL2 on a laptop or a machine with no net connection (A very real probability right now, moving house, no idea until i get DSL back) i won't be screwed because i'd have to download 2gb+ just to play it.
EDIT: Another thing that makes me lose a little faith, anyone ever tried to play OpFor through steam? I don't mean installing it manually, i mean grabbing it from Steam. While it says it's preloaded 100%, it Streams sounds and such during gameplay meaning that the game is extremely jumping and will pause up to 30 seconds at a time to load a new piece of dialogue, very very poor performance and i've little desire to experience that with HL2.

I, for one, will be steering clear of Steam for buying HL2. Something concerns me about this. Paying for HL2 over steam before it's released is like giving a kid a cookie for doing his chores before he actually does them. Where is the INCENTIVE for HL2 to be released!? Well, ok, it's going to sell 90% in retail... but, hey, it's the principle of it! I feel like I should hold out buying it to let my consumer-voice be heard.
Yes, lets give people money for intangible products and presentable services. And what do we all get to do in 5-30 years when Valve is bankrupt and Steam is borked?
You know you'll eventually be able to get a No-CD (or at least, no CD-Key;...or Steam emulator) then...and what if all you have is a Steam account?
Steam goes under, your only source of HL2 files is the Steam folder on your computer...and what about when it decides to corrupt and you need to format it?
Plus, I've heard, either way you need an internet connection. You need to register your CD online to be able to play, but if you physically have a CD, you can always get around that old trouble of...you know...getting files that don't exist in electronic form anymore.
They can get my money for intangible things over the internet when I can print physical objects out like a replicator (...thus making it tangible).

To be honest, i'm not going to hang the posters, not going to wear the hat nor am i going to need the strategy guide, and for that time i need to install HL2 on a laptop or a machine with no net connection (A very real probability right now, moving house, no idea until i get DSL back) i won't be screwed because i'd have to download 2gb+ just to play it.
EDIT: Another thing that makes me lose a little faith, anyone ever tried to play OpFor through steam? I don't mean installing it manually, i mean grabbing it from Steam. While it says it's preloaded 100%, it Streams sounds and such during gameplay meaning that the game is extremely jumping and will pause up to 30 seconds at a time to load a new piece of dialogue, very very poor performance and i've little desire to experience that with HL2.
