Funny how their weapons jam after firing one round...which might put their armies at a general disadvantage against the all-powerful egon gun and gauss cannons wielded by the ?ber scientists at Black Mesa. BMRF has mastered their teleportation technology is some sense, since when they want to go somewhere they can - I think the only reason Xen aliens were returning is because "big baby boss thing" now knew where Earth was and could send stuff there.

...unlike UAC...who just blatantly open portals to dimensions with demons and guys throwing fireballs - where they almost all procede to die.

What about that big corporation in Final Fantasy? Shinra or something, aren't they a power to be dealt with?

Shinra was the big company from Final Fantasy 7, yes... though I don't think they'd last too long.

I still put my chips in with Omni-Tek... I mean, a hyper-corporation that owns many planets across the galaxy, holds the patent to (in it's game universe) nanobots, has complete control over Notum (a mineral which allows nano-bots to survive independantly indefinitely)... and so on. Heck, if the battle was brought to their turf, they'd win simply through attrition, as Rubi-Ka has quick-clone "insurance" technology.

Go Go Black Mesa. The only one listed that actually behaves like a corporation. The others seem to have a bit too much evil for evil's sake.

Not to mention people sticking WMDs in their lockers with 128-bit encryption codes of: 1-2-3.

    EDIT: Here is my breakdown.

UAC: Pretty solid looking company. Unfortunately they lose lots of employees due to incompetant bosses and lax corporate oversight.

Weyland: Another solid company. However they are terrible at predicting market futures. They can only see the current costs without the proper return on investments. Eg: Marine: Lets nuke it from space. Weyland: Nah we have a lot invested there it cost us a fortune. Result: Lots of dead. 1 killed exec (hey they cost a lot to train) Lost equipment. And the entire freaking planet. All that in just 1 movie.

Umbrella: I really don't know what is wrong with them. How can they expect any return on investment if all their experiments keep eating the data?
Black Mesa: They have the experience and talent. If they could only hire more adept security.

Tri-Op: If you build nanites and can't be bothered to install Norton Anti-Virus then you really don't deserve to exist.

Umbrella because they're the ultimate branch of cover ups. UAC would also do very well if they made their employees watch a demon safety demonstration video before they mess with stuff only Indiana Jones is qualified to handle.

    Owned. And also quite hilarious.

Personally, I think not all of you guys are really counting the G-Man into all your calculations. I mean think about it. The guy is completely invincible, even if you cheat and manage to get to him, he is entirely indestructible. If they simply used him and him alone, he could take down every opponent with his bare hands if he wanted to, while they only caused a single spark and the sound of metal colliding with metal to occur whenever they attacked him.

Before anyone says that Black Mesa has no control over the G-Man, yes, I know. However the G-Man has control over Black Mesa, so, if he would probably defend it with his super invincibility.

I didn't vote for UAC, but I wanted to present the following:
You forget that no matter how invincible the G-man is, so are UAC's crates (Doom 1/2 model, at least; I still have to finish Doom3). And UAC's crates can't die of old age. All UAC would need to do is trap the g-man inside a large crate, and even the crate-busting hero of this match (Gordon Freeman) wouldn't have a chance of freeing him.

It may be possible for the scientists to give the g-man some device to allow his teleportation out, it which case....you just need another crate. Another really flippin' big crate for the entire BMRF....hmmm...

They never had a Virus Problem, as far as i know o.O

And when you mean shodan, then your wrong, its a Ki Program that was so complex it became sort of sentinent and thinks of itself as a goddess (even when its an evil one)

So when they can create a god, i think theyre at the top

    Well company X owns a zillion-billion planets!!11oneoneone

Let's keep things remotely realistic here. I think it should be between Black Mesa and UAC, since the timeframes are close to each other (BlackMesa in the 80s?). Evidentely Black Mesa would be heavely outdated, if it ever was to be confronted with UAC (BM was nuked at the end of HL anyway, UAC somewhat damaged at the end of the game, but still in 1 piece).

Not to mention the G-Man needs to drag around his briefcase, while Swan can use his sexeh PDA...

[EDIT] Ofcourse i'm hinting towards UAC's mars facility when I say UAC, since we haven't really seen other aspects of them so far...

The only reason I brought up Omni-Tek was it has the closest similarity in technology to Tri-Op, making it a valid foil. ><

Voted that the UAC would win.

If you read some of the stories behind the UAC's operations you'd notice that they've:

    1) Opened a portal to a different dimension.
    2) Opened a portal to a different dimension that just happened to be HELL.
    3) Have the best fighting force in the universe; one man defeating HORDES OF UNDEAD AND DEMONIC CREATURES. Holy crap!
    4) Have the best technology in the universe; BFG 9000 works on the principal of FUSSION -- A object basically gets imploded instead of exploded. Basically they can control nuclear reactions.
    5) Discovered a alien race (Spoily: Mars base was built over a martian compound which had been defeated by hell, and had once housed a alien tech that could defeat the most deadly of demons)
    6) Discovered a alien race and had one of it's employees use it's technology successfully
    7) Green goo.
[8) Have the ability to close hell's portals (It's a doom 2 story line.)]

[edit - Know that Doom 3 is basically a GRAPHICALLY ENHANCED VERSION of the original Doom. Doom 2 is thus the SEQUEL to Doom 3; even though it's graphics are heavilly dated, it's still the sequel story-line wise.]

UAC and Wyland corp. are out because they can't controll their technology. Umbrella corp. has a good chance but not enough high power weaponry. I don't know much about system shock but I do know Black Mesa has the G-man AND Gordon so it's kinda no contest.

TriOp built a drive that manipulates REALITY. None of that wussy "teleportation" crap, this baby manipulates reality to the point where an object of mass the size of the Von Braun and Rickenbacker can travel at light speed. Make it a bit bigger, and BAM, you can change the reality of a planet, maybe more.

    TriOp FTW.

guaranteed far larger entities than any of the others listed; plus they have spacefleets. Militarized, spacefleets

UAC and Umbrella are but minor startups compared to the Big Two

Plz. Black Mesa is but 1 research facility compared to the hundreds to be had + spacefleets and entire militaries. They have their own invulnerable heros too
