Hypothetical Zombie Attack

how safe is your house?
One day I was looking at my house and thinking "hmm.. I wonder how safe my house would be if zombies attacked" so lets have a look shall we:

The whole house has double glazing throughout so it would be hard for zombies to smash AND there are big heavy metal shutters on every window and door on the bottom floor, sure it would be dark as hell inside if the power was cut but there would be no nasties getting in and eating my brains

So, how safe is your house/apartement/cardboard box if zombies were to attack?

Living on a flat.. 3rd floor (also 3 store house)... double glazings.. Dunno what else would be actually needed.. it's not like they'd be running up the friggen stairs unless they were one of those athlete superrunners from dawn of the dead ;|

Well lets see, if the zombies were attacking my first thought would be to gather aviable weapons and secure a "safe room." The safe room would probbly be my bedroom given it has a phone, the computer, it's on the second floor, and I have a nice sharp katina sitting on top of my dresser. My house has way to many windows and door and such that it would be impossible to protect the whole thing without a few well trained marksmen guarding certian choke points.

Actually I thought about something like this before when I wa...err my freind was downloading movies from the interweb, like he does, that treasonist basturd, I killed him in his sleep. Anyway, I was thinking "what if the RIAA tried to break into my house and kill me erm him...at my house..for some reason..."
    or soemthing.

bah I don't even know why I bother posting anymore, I don't make any sence.

Pardon any spelling errors, due to a problems with windows I don't have MS word anymore.

Not safe at all! My parents are against having a SIG Sauer P226 in .40S&W in the house, despite the fact that they get all freaked out when we hear one lousy coyote.

2nd floor babay, and there are very narrow hallways up here, so it would be tough for any zombies to use their numbers against me. But the bottom floor has all the food and would be far too easy to get into (low/flimsy windows), so I have the perfect escape route from my roof planned, which allows me access to all 4 sides of my house from the roof, from there I would get some weaponry from my basement (all the tool are located very close to the door, and I would be able to get to them before I could be surrounded) and from there it's only a short run to the nearest school, which would be near impenatrable thanks to it's chicken-wire windows and heavy bolting doors, and would be easy to live in thanks to the large supply of freeze-dried food kept in the cafeteria. Or I could make it to my car if I needed to travel, which always has several bludgeoning weapons in it (pipe benders are very useful for this purpose). Then it would be off to the local Wal-Mart for guns and ammo. As you can tell I've already put way too much thought into this.

I'd say it was semi-safe. I would probably have to go into my parent's bedroom becasue it has a bathroom. Otherwise, I would get my friend and get hime on top of the roof to snipe only becasue he's a real good shot. So am I, so I guess I would do some sniping too.

We have a tank of a car (seriously, this thing barely fits into a normal garage) and it isn't a hummer; it's one of those old cars from the 1980's or something. none of that "im sleek and sexy, speedy too!" but more like "i can run over 30 people and not take a dent at 80MPH"

Seriously, with the right work on it, that car would become a heavilly fortified position.

[edit - i also have a metal fence on the patio in the backyard, and a angle grinder, so i could technicaly turn the fence into a waist-high decapitator and a windsheild protector. also have a tank of gassoline and aluminum pop/beer cans, so i could fill em' up and stick a cloth in em... heh. ]

Two 12ga shotguns, four pistols, and a .22 rifle.

    Yeah, I feel pretty safe

My house sucks, I'd die for sure, but I do have a plan, when the zombies come to get me, I'd talk them into dancing for their meal, I'd even play the music. Once they start dancing I'll make my escape. Cause I'm sure the intelligence level of a zombie isn't high enough to remember why it came here in the first place once it started dancing.. DANCE FEVER ZOMBIE!

I hope I get a few with disco outfits, I'd record it and sell it on Ebay.

I think these windows I have are easily breakable, but wait! I could just blast really loud music. Zombies' hearing is really acute, or so I hear.

Semi-detatched 2/3 bedroom house (i say 2/3 because we're not 100% sure that the third bedroom counts as a bedroom because it's so small). At least one double glazed window to every room.

The front and back door each have at least 4 bolts on them but the wood is flimsy and would give way if someone really wanted to get in. No real weapons in my house other than kitchen cutlery. I'd be dead, i suppose. Although i'd take a knife to them first. Plus if we're talking the "slow" zombie, i could just wait upstairs and push the lead one down each time he got to the top. Endless enjoyment, and life saving too.

welp, my house sucks, lots of windows downstairs, but i could board them up, i also have a dog i can train to fetch me some food... no doggy doors tho...

ill be fine as long as i have my internet connection, heck i could just bring a bunch of food into my room and live here just dandily...

perhaps when i get bored of being holed up from zombies, i could construct a flame thrower from all the random parts of things in my house and have a barbeque

As long as I could work out the food problem, I'm safe as anything.

The stairs are straight, narrow and in a single line. One guard up top could keep zombies back for days there.

All this discussion brings up some interesting points. A zombie invasion, for the most part, would be boring. Everyone would just go upstairs and take turns pushing the zombies down the stairs as they reach the top. Hardly "OH DEAR GOD WE'VE GOT TO GET OUT OF HERE!" that happens in the films.

My house is just one big orgasmic fountain of wub. Zombies would not dare to come within 5 ft of our front door.

I would die; but I'd be the last one to live in my house. The windows in my room are pretty high up, so the zombies would have to go through the rest of the house first. The zombies couldn't really go through our doors into the house since they're huge **** metal doors (made to look like wood).

If I were on the computer (20%) of my time I would say, I would have no trouble repelling a zombie attack, I sit at the back corner of my basement, away from the only entrance with crowbar in hand (or on the chair next to me).

If I were upstairs listening to music, well... the floor is so weak, if there were zombies in the basement they could just blast through the floor and that would be it for me, also beware of neighbours (suspected zombies) and the walls between our houses are maybe 3 inches of drywall... (NOTE to self, watch neighbours)

If I was at work, well, I'm attacked by "zombies" all the time (READ zombies = customers as I work at Price Chopper)

Then there's my girlfriend's house... let's not go there (heh, that's what I say to her everytime she suggests it) Parents = both suspected zombies... with eyes... in the back of their heads... that can see what we are doing through walls apparently.

Anyways, looks like I'll be spending more time on the computer now, thanks for reading my rant.

My house isn't that safe, but my bedroom is.
In the attic, which requires climbing a ladder, which I can pull up!

Plus it has phone, computer and the houses water supply in a tank
Also an emergency escape window onto the roof (which is pretty much inaccesible to zombies)
    Hurrah. Take that zombie scumm!

Well you assume that would work. I don't think it would. Trying to push someone down the stairs only work if there isn't some kind of horde behind them propping them up, and if we're dealing with zombies on a one on one basis, this is a prety pathetic zombie attack.

I'm stuck out in the middle of nowhere so I'd probably trekk into town... sure there'll be lots of zombies there but there's lots of food, clothes, games (eee!) and stuff too ^^
