Ahh I should shoot myself for failing to mention Betrayal at Krondor. If you can stomach the old graphics (among other things), it's <i>very</i> good. No, make that outstanding - I'm tempted to say it's the best game I have ever played. and as for krondor, that's another game I didn't give enough of a shot... maybe I was just too young, but I would get creamed no matter where I went, and never knew what items were most economical to buy, never knew where to go, etc etc... gave up in like chapter 2 or 3...
