imo the skin atm is just to clean (i know its not finished) and the pipes or ,what ever they are, look flat to me but i dont know how to make them look raised in the skin so i cant help u there.
not done, but touchups on the forehead, gums, and dirty teeth...I still need to figure out how I can get more color in there, though. I'll try and do that once it's all done by baking in some lighting, specularity, and bump.

I couldn't stand the head anymore so I took a break and did some of the rest of it.
edit: remember that white quad by the face will be teeth with transparency. The infestation on the claws needs to be fixed up, but I think it looks a lot better when the stuff is put together.
