[mwip]high-definition Fade

<div class="IPBDescription">more like the original concept...</div> Well, here is the finished model of a fade I started a few weeks ago and have been working on pretty lazily. It weighs in at 1860 triangles (a bit less than double the default fade)
model in wings 3d and Lightwave. I'll start UVs tonight or tomorrow. Hopefully I can texture it well enough on my own, but I will need a <b>good</b> and <b>skilled</b> animator to rig and finish him off. I plan on doing nicer versions of every other kharraa as well.
any comments?
ps: I'm wearing a black foam hat.

maybe if you give it a good skin

1: The fades head is a bit skulkish, perhaps flatten it ever so slightly.
2: You could add more detail in the chest area like modelling the rib cage, etc.
3: The Fade has a mini-tail like tube coming out of its back, which seems to be
missing from your version.
I'll be using this when you finish it.
I'd make the transition from claw to skin a bit more straight.
Also, the acid rocket thingy looks a bit too small.

Who would animate this?

-1970 triangles...still reasonable. i make the cut off at 2000, but I don't think i'll have to go that high.
no sexy shaded views with nice edges this time, I didnt feel like re-edging it in wings.

You could probably use the original skin, just tweaking it a bit.

Brig's rine had 11 meshes and it never lagged me.
Sushifx brought this to my attention.
Umm you have a nice computer?
Brigs models always dropped my fps a bit. 5 fps or so..
And plus it was only weapons. When you put it on an alien, such as the fade, where there is alot of them. bleh.
