Urd, an admin there, began insulting me the instant I had a veteran Icon without even knowing me. I only stayed around for 1 map of combat to wipe the smug smile off his face...I don't understand why people can be so ignorant to judge without even knowing someone. Thats one server I'll instruct people to steer clear of.

Sheesh, you have to be pretty damn pedantic to consider config.cfg as a script. All your config is a series of commands executed in the order they are presented in.
It's just a script, and everyone has to use it or they can't play.
right, so someone just asked me to provide <i>evidence</i> to support the argument that more than 1% of the Quake3 community can use a railgun, and more than 1% of the CS community can AWP/deagle...............
a-hem...
Also someone said that because the game stores your settings in a .cfg file that makes everyone a scripter...
right, sure. Let´s all delete our .cfg files and mess up the game.... don´t be absurd. People editing their settings through the game menu are not scripters, though you´d like to see it that way to make you feel less of a cheater.
Anyway... I must admit, this whole debate is hardly new. I still remember people using scripts to ruin TFC matches, by making the script concjump or even rocketjump (come on, that´s freaking easy, at least concjumping was a challenge).
Unless there will be major changes in future games, competetive gaming will continue to <b>suck</b>.

Sure, taken out of the context the word 'script' can refer to all kinda of things, but lets stick to the subject. Its pretty damn obvious the people complaining about 'scripts' are refering to ones that perform a string of timed movement and attack commands, not your settings or key bindings. Do we need a new definition for 'scripts' so people dont confuse them with config.cfg? I dont think so.
I completely respect your opinion on the use of scripts, but its very tiring when people start arguing sematics like this.
The official stance on scripts is that it's left up to everyone to decide for themselves whether to use them or not - thus the server variable. This position is well known, and I daresay it shouldn't limit anyone too far in their gaming habits.
Topics discussing the validity of scripting tend however to degrade into namecalling and flames even from otherwise respected members. This is thus my last warning: Accept that you won't be able to change other peoples playing styles. I won't stand by debates regarding whether scripts can give unfair advantages anymore. Leave the topic alone, or carry the consequences.
