Especially considering what one of the links you posted is...
Secondly. One Piece > Naruto
Mainly because I don't have to put up with Luffy explaining all the technical parts of his attacks. He just gets down to business.
Your never too old for cartoons! THey are better than reality programming. Besides, your only as young as you act

wth, your calling me a child?
1: Stop watching Sailor Moon, Pokemon, Digimon and\or Yu Gi Oh. Those are what we call kids' cartoons.
2: Not all anime is intended for kids. In fact, the vast majority of anime is not suitable for small children at all. Quite a hefty chunk is aimed at teenage males. There's also a lot of deadly serious stuff.
3: Yes, that's completely different from western cartoons. It works very differently in anime. Anime has boobies, blood, violence, death, mind-altering exeperiences that make The Matrix look like Sesame Street, as many twists as a good thriller, mature comedy, and serious relationship issues.
4: Not all anime. It's a medium, not a genre. You probably don't realise this, but saying you don't like anime because you think you're too old to watch cartoons is a bit like saying you don't like the movies because you've only seen the Thomas the Tank Engine movie, or saying you don't like TV because you've only seen Playschool.
5: Nobody's forcing you. Thanks for not being insulting, though
6: Suggestions for some of the anime I'm talking about? Chrno Crusade, Fullmetal Alchemist, Tenchi Muyo, Neon Genesis Evangelion, Vampire Hunter D. Maybe even Naruto. Most of these are not shown on TV. Some are only available through fansubs.
[edit]I'll throw this in, too:
Most anime fans watch anime in Japanese with English subtitles. There are a number of reasons why.
1: In the case of fansubs, you don't really have a choice.
2: If the anime is actually set in Japan, there are often some cultural references that get lost in translation when dubbed.
3: Sometimes it's a form of elitism, sometimes it's purism, sometimes it's a liking for the Japanese language.
4: Related to points 2 and 3: often, when a series gets licensed in the US and dubbed into English, the series gets lobotomised in the process when the western distributor tries to make it fit the mould of a western cartoon. Particularly the stuff you'll see on TV.
5: It's been observed on many occasions that if you watch an anime DVD with English dubbing and English subtitles, often what the characters are saying is completely different from the subtitles (which are almost always very close to the original Japanese). So basically, the story and characters are actually different. Unfortunately, they're often worse.
6: Basically, it's not merely a "purist" thing about watching in Japanese with subs. The storyline and characters often get pretty badly mutilated in the translation and westernisation. Not always, but most of the time.

Vampire Hunter D was cool though. Tenchi Muyo might also be a bit much if you want a "serious" anime per se, as the whole thing is like a teenage fantasy seemingly.
Oh and Wheee, did you get Naruto off of scarywater or animesuki? Or maybe you found some epps elsewhere? Locations?
Kiki's delivery service, My neighbor totoro, laputa city in the sky, mononoke hime, spirited away, melodies from the heart, etc... they're all very good.
@Cold-Nite: usually i just grab whatever's posted on narutofan, be it raw or subbed...if i get the raw i usually don't watch the sub version, since i can understand maybe 70-80% of it. (I use narutofan cause i read the manga too)
@Transmission: Only as shady as recording TV episodes on your VCR and giving it to a friend... there are some things that I don't approve of (DVD rips of anime), but most releases are ripped from TV broadcasts.

We can only hope! If anime of Naruto's quality becomes as popular as crap like DBZ (no offense intended towards and DBZ fans) it'll do a lot to further anime in general. Not to mention doing a lot towards slowing the proliferation of, well, crap.
P.S. I cannot believe they're showing yuu yuu hakusho on cartoon network. That is embarrassing. I bet they'll cut out all the super bloody parts too.
P.P.S. Not to defend the Dragonball series, but the japanese version is a lot better than the stuff they show on cartoon network. It's still horribly overextended and repetitive, but it's more bearable.
But yeah....now that Naruto has finished its fighting phase (first Itachi encounter) looks like its gonna be all boring over again with the stupid training....bleh that's the one thing I hate about it. I'm just thankful that they add some amusing bits to it (hinthint ep4)

/me shrugs, there'll be another fight in maybe 4-5 episodes, and a long string of them starting maybe 10 episodes after that.
Narutofan? Is that a site? I'll google it right now. You don't have to reply if that is the correct spelling and I will find it by googling.
You read the manga? If you havn't, I'll just say there is some very VERY good fighting to come.
I love Naruto, I think it's a brilliant series. I've watches heaps of other animes as well and I won't say Naruto is the best (for me, that's still Cowboy Bebop), but it's up there in my top 10 for sure.
Rock Lee for ever!
AFter seeing the first 60 episodes, this is totally how I feel.
Also Ryo-Ohki:
Rock Lee for EVER!!!
Evangelion freaks me out.
I mean, even now I can't make any sense of it...
In the end battle for instance... where did all that **** come from?
Okay...there's being a fanboy, and then there's just being creepy.

That's normal. Don't worry about it
