Uh... no.
If you preorder, you get a $10 rebate when the game hits the shelf. And you need your receipt to get THAT. Read through their site... hell, read the preorder box. At least on mine, right under the price it lists '$9.99 off City of Heroes ***RECEIPT REQUIRED***'.
Here's hoping you're right, Doomeh. But IIRC on the site it says to continue your preorder game, you have to go buy the boxed final version and get the CD-key out of it, then associate it with your preorder account via the 'Activate' button. Same way beta-testers can do it, though they don't get the rainbow sparklies, nor the three-day head start.

The sparklies aren't worth it. The three-day headstart might be... but only if you can get the full game the day it transitions from preorder-only to retail-available. I'm looking forward to doing that as I'll be able to get in on the ground floor, as it were.
Just not sure if I should start with my Magic/Controller character, or the Technology/Tanker. The former only really works if there are other people around to team up with, to kill the stuff you've locked down so you aren't killing one enemy for three damn minutes.

p.s. I love Magic/Controller all the way. I specialize in Gravity control and it pwns. Also, I have no trouble solo'ing. It pwns.

Well, I only paid $50, so you probably put down a deposit at your retailer and got the actual preorder. Fry's just charges $10 for the preorder box with all the goodies, and gives it as a $10 at-time-of-purchase rebate.
Bah, you people make me want to play a MMORPG for the first time in 3 years. Of course, I have no job during school time and the school has [censored ] bandwidth anyway. I'm sure my computer could run it though (especially seeing those buildings and their repetitive textures - when have graphics been the 'main' selling point of mmorpg anyway?).
Maybe this summer (by sumemr I mean...after May 12th ).

No, hella fun was when I got Combat jumping and realized I could hold down jump and hit forward as I reached the top of a window (there's a TINY lip there, apparently) and with good timing, almost literally fly up the wall with almost no chance of falling. I've gotten up a ceiling-toucher in under 15 seconds. Then jumped off, just to see if I could kill myself with falling damage. (Yes. Yes, you can.)
You can kill yourself with falling damage? I've leaped from the Z-Axis limit at lvel 6 and survived the fall with 1HP. All my friends have too. And that's what I meant by climbing a building, Talesin.

Ah well. So how many are DEFINITELY going to be buying the game, once it gets to Retail? Not just the pre-order days.
