i havent really changed anything since last update.
i did have a cool idea though, has anyone here played perfect dark on the old nintendo 64? there is a gun called the cyclone as i recall and when you reload it you take a clip and run it throught this thing and the gun collects all the bullets. what about loading it kinda like that? im lookin for pics now, ill post if i find them.

what does everyone think about that reload idea?
also i came up with another idea. it would be a lot of work though. im thinkin since the c-20A rifle can use different types of ammo (<a href='http://www.blizzard.com/ghost/images/artwork/ss22.jpg' target='_blank'>seen here</a>) why wouldnt the gauss rifle? it would be possible to change all the weapons to look like the gauss rifle and for each weapon have different ammo and such. like the grenade launcher would be shot out of the bottom barrel, the shells would be loaded in the bottom of the gun, different sized clips for hmg and lmg, but the only problem would be telling each gun apart in 3rd person. i was thinking like maybe each gun would have a special "plugin" like when you pull out the lmg a little thing pops out of the gun and there is a laser on it. of course it would have to be visible 3rd person. and the grenade launcher might have a little sight pop up that has the levels/distances or whatever. <img src='http://www.uncompany.com/images/CAW%20M79%20Grenade%20Launcher%20(%20Wood%20Version%20).jpg' border='0' alt='user posted image' /> like the thing on top.

sexy? i think so. do-able? i hope so. what does everyone here think? please give input, good or bad, and state why. and tell me what you think about the reload.
If you're feeling lazy, you could just have the reload anim be pushing a button. You know, the Marine pushes the button and a little nanite collecter flap/cylinder/net/thingy pops out of the top of the gun to sift through the nanites in the air and form them into bullets inside the gun. It's cheap, but its very easy, and I just gave you a technical description of why it's not stupid in the NS universe.. Otherwise I'd have to say the Cyclone reload idea is good, but I don't know how hard that would be - the Cyclone's reload did look awesome back in Perfect Dark.
Has anyone ever tried e-mailing one of the Blizzard guys to ask how the Gauss rifle is reloaded? It seems they would know more than anyone else...
[edit] I don't think it's a very good idea to integrate all weapons into one and having it "switch modes." I know someone tried this before with a HMG/GL and it turned out craptacular because if you were switching from any other weapon it would just appear there and the mode switch anim would play. Unless you feel like doing the entire Marine arsenal with distinct reloads and mode switch anims, I wouldn't make it a "mutli-weapon." If you really want to do that, though, put a bayonet on the end for the knife... But what about mines? And when you're playing as alien, wouldn't it be hard to tell which weapon the Marine has out it they're all identical?

yea that was my main problem. i did however try out the reload as a cyclone, and bingo lookin good. tried to compile with milkshape but pow, crashed. i had everything saved so im good, just gotta go get that compiler.
I can't wait to see the reload animation. ive finished all the animations and everything, and i exported them but i am having a problem. when i export it and compile it the bone attachments get messed up. trying to fix now.

alright i fixed that, and i animated it the way i though it should be, and its all compiled good too. but now i realize the origins are off. and i now encounter the problem of v_model arms not being long enough.

alright heres a pic, everythin is runnin well, except the bullets. it shoots like insanely fast shotgun shells. but only on my screen. when i am spectating it works normal.

aboot the sprites, i found them a while back, ill upload the ones i have, there is yellow, blue, and dark blue. readme is inside telling who made and all.

You could have like a small screen on it that says which weapon "mode" it is in, like "Mode :HMG" Just my 2 cents.
