well i dont know how to skin, and i can try to animate it, but i dont know how that will turn out. if my animation doesnt work ill let someone else do it. and yes i will make sure it gets finished, and if not i will place it in someone elses hands to finish.

I definitely agree that the barrel should be solid; you'll simply never be able to see the front of the barrel, so those polys are wasted and could be put to better use elsewhere on the model.

yeah they are paper thin, im gonna fix that. the barrels are only hollow for like 2 inches or so. i dont think its very many polies. it just goes to a point inside and makes it look deeper then it is. i guess i could take that off though.

in the opening cinematic for brood war it shows a guy shooting this and there is a counter on the side showing how many bullets are in the gun. is that possible to do?
I saw this ripoff of a Halo assault rifle model for Firearms that counted the bullets you shot, I don't know how the guy did it though, and model's gone now because they changed the g36e model in latest FA version <!--emo&:(--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/sad.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='sad.gif' /><!--endemo-->

and its been converted to ns, and personaly i hate it (way too stubby)

arright i was thinkin, in the sc:bw opening cinematic the guy is shootin and runs outa ammo (the bullets only fire out of the top barrel), then 2 rockets fly past him and kill the zerg. when it shows the guy behing him he has the same gun as the guy that was shooting! now i am thinkin the bottom barrel is a rocket/grenade launcher possibly. what if it could be made to launch the hand grenades? i think that would be neato. just have it as a different weapon slot and instead of pulling a pin or anything maybe loading the grenade into the bottom barrel like an m203.

To do that, you would have to replace the grenade view model with this model and fit it with appropriate animations. Then you'd have to replace the grenade world model with a more appropriate projectile.
Meh...if you did that it would probably work more like the GP25 that is slung under the AK-74. But perhaps it ought to be more pressing how you want it to be reloaded? That's killed the project sometimes in the past: These huge debates about how the Gauss Rifle should reload. Since, the Gauss Rifle really doesn't reload in SC...
Maybe you should focus more on that? Just a suggestion. But the model is coming along good. a lil off topic, but i have that acadamy model, along with the hydralisk... quite tasty, they are.
And I think the clip for the gauss rifle goes under those paper thin things, reloads kind of like the HMG, me thinks.
