1) Don't add a clip. At the most, have part of the body pop out like the HMG's clip does (could be a different shape).
2) Doesn't make sense to have the right hand handle the clip. It's faster and more efficient for the left hand to do it, which is why most clip release levers are accessible by the right hand without even taking your hand off the grip.

id sorta want to see it as a replacement for all like the LMG version is stock, the GL version has all that other stuff with the singular loading probably m433 HEDP's im assuming and the the HMG you have a heavy extended barrel minus the grenade launcher, and then you have like a sword or something cool like that under barrel, yea me with my insane ideas and such

good idea but one thing i never understood from that gun is how the bullets are put into the cylinder clip *waits for sheena or vash to post a skimatic picture*

ertt, they modelled the gauss rifle in SC:Ghosts differently then SC, and BW but IMHO i think alot of people would rather see the more chunkyfied and agressive looking one from the olden days

its not goin at all, no one will give input on what i should do now. is that a clip in the pic i posted above? if it is should i use that one on my the gauss?
First: I have absolutely zero experience at real weapons, or how weapons work. (I'm already happy that I know you have to put in ammo, shoot and reload, and that the weapons drops shells if used)
But you could make it reload like the normal NS HMG, like this:
-open the gun by moving a little flap on top from __ to / and at end |
-remove an ammo-holding box from the top
- put another ammo-holding box in at the top
- close the flap from | to / to __
- pull the thing like you do as on the normal HMG

Of those three pictures from Ghost, only the marine in the middle is holding the standard Gauss rifle. I don't know what the other two are; presumably some SMG-ish weapon created for Ghost.

First: A clip can't hold that much ammo with that length
Second: Putting a clip out and in, and pulling a trigger (is it called that) wouldn't take as much time as the normal HMG reloading animation
