it works like most other mmorpgs you're used to ^^
treat it like diablo: kill stuff and do missions until you hit the level cap a couple of months later and then wonder why you bothered in the first place =D

Except I'm not sure if there really is a level cap in this... a lot of skills start at upward of L180 to even start learning them. Though I did manage to get to L29 in one day, things are going much slower at this point. Hint: Humans really suck until they start getting things like the laser shotgun. Hope you can tag along and steal EXP from a beseiged Fighter, as most stuff that gives decent EXP will kill you in one or two hits.
From what I've heard there's a cap it's just titanically huge ^^; I think I heard someone mention 250 but it's all rumour to be honest.
As for being cruddy, you have no idea until you've suffered being an aidia =P
Sure it's fun for a little while but eventually the constant levelling treadmill got to me like in any other MMORPG and I was back to the "why bother? we're just pumping meaningless numbers until we can do guild wars at which point it's 'omg my numbers beat your numbers' -.- "
By the time I stopped I was using brainwarriors and hornbeasts to level =/ If I got bored I'd go stand in a crowd of tigers outside the starting town and dance while the new players worked their way through a crowd of free-kills <!--emo&:p--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/tounge.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='tounge.gif' /><!--endemo--> I think the main reason I enjoyed it for so long was because I could offer so much advice and help the lower levels out, they even offered me a GM position which I almost took until I realised I was sick of the game =s

Basicaly Gemma hit the nail on the head for this game. Fun for a while and then gets realy booring.
The game is also not going to always be free (If i remember corectly they are basicaly trying to attract ussers atm, then will go back to p2p)

Savage Eden was supposed to go P2P a while ago but they decided they didn't have enough players to merit it (that and they found some weird warp bug I didn't bother checking the details on) ^^
