    This is my fav so far, just took it... yesterday I think...

    I have the AvP models, which makes it all the better

    The lerk, having just dived the entire height of the map, the lerk circled to find it's prey. Once found, the lerk dove yet again, and delivered a fatal, focused blow, severing it's victims spinal colum, and tearing a larg hole in his gut.

    This picture was taken by my KharrahCam moments before the Lerk managed to slay the marine.

    Oh, and ZeroBite, it's not an OMG I killed so many...

    1: I dun know HOW to remove HUD sprites

    2: Even if I did, I was an idiot and turned before I pushed F5 to capture the grisly scene that is beside me in the pic I managed to get. When I realized this and turned, the corpses were gone ><"

    The 2 pics there are supposed to tell a story, not be showing off

    Jean Luc, I'm going to have to ask you to post no more pics. You break every rule in every picture. Please do not post anymore pics.

    Now that I've said what everyone is thinking, I want to compliment Mazkaline on his most recent pics.

    After many a desperate attempts, i have a decent pic. This onos was engulfed in marines. The marine in the corner, though, i can imagine this being some sort of transmission and the guy in the corner says "God, help us."

    i say the best one yet was the one where the camera is sideways and there is a jetpacker near the hive witha explosion going off it looks like the camera man died his camera fell on the floor and kept recording and the jetpacker is trying to make a escape after some explosive charges he set went off

    hmm.. i made this ages ago.. was going to be the starting pic for my NS movie thingy.

    well i like it, think it has bucket loads of atmosphere and the umbra really gives a nice alien feel.

    It's like the fade is mocking the marine.

    They're not great, but they're not all that bad either.

    these arent the best but i only took pics today when i had the time

    <img src='http://www.opticpower.com/kylie/nsscreenshots/anklebite.jpg' border='0' alt='user posted image' />

    1- ankle biter, likes to sneak up behind marines cloaked...

    <img src='http://www.opticpower.com/kylie/nsscreenshots/flight.jpg' border='0' alt='user posted image' />
    2- i usually find it hard to get a good pic of a lerk close up in swooping action. i caught this one tho.. by spamming the f5 buttong <!--emo&:p--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/tounge.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='tounge.gif' /><!--endemo-->

    <img src='http://www.opticpower.com/kylie/nsscreenshots/lerkbite.jpg' border='0' alt='user posted image' />
    3- literally getting his guts ripped out

    <img src='http://www.opticpower.com/kylie/nsscreenshots/takeaflight.jpg' border='0' alt='user posted image' />
    4- a good way of dodging a lerk dive bite attack, especially if its two lerks..

    <img src='http://www.opticpower.com/kylie/nsscreenshots/team2.jpg' border='0' alt='user posted image' />
    5- good teamwork, skulk leaping, and two lerks swooping

    <img src='http://www.opticpower.com/kylie/nsscreenshots/team.jpg' border='0' alt='user posted image' />
    6- i dont usually see two lerks working together in proper formation and always together, these two, always were in formation and always atacked together.. all these pics were taken while they were playing and more or less camping,, but i reckon they used pretty good teamwork and using a good formation attack.

    I sat out a round of NS today, speccing while my friend commed and I got quite a bit of good pictures <!--emo&:)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/smile.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='smile.gif' /><!--endemo--> Most of them were action shots so I'm not gonna include em here. I'll just put the ones that are outstanding.

    Great hallway pic. No action but it rocketh
    <img src='http://zerobyte.servebeer.com/projects/combat_photo/ns_ayumi0160.jpg' border='0' alt='user posted image' />

    Fade gutting out a marine. Bloody.

    Kylie: Nice pics. Reminds me of a game I wish i was taking pictures of. Lerks everywhere.

    I'd like to see more criticism of pictures.

    Zerobyte, your pics are decent, but they could be better. Your first one is boring. It's something we all see everytime we play. I'd say your last picture is the best. I like the pose of the marine.

    Kyliegirl, i htink your first pic was really good. I like how the camera is offset and the closeups of both the alien and the marine. On the other hand, you follow a great pic with ones that aren't that great.

    Sudzz, I like your second picture. Neat closeup. I don't like your first one very much, though. Too small and not enough significance.

    These are my opinions. I want to hear other people's opinions.
  • Jean_Luc_PicardJean_Luc_Picard Join Date: 2003-02-03 Member: 13051Members
    My opinion is that perhaps you could actually tell me HOW to fix my pictures.

    I know, I'm new at this so <!--emo&:p--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/tounge.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='tounge.gif' /><!--endemo-->

    Yes, I KNOW you are NOT supposed to have the HUD in the picture... well I don't know how to remove it. If someone could kindly:

    A) Tell me how
    B) Link me to some place that WILL tell me how

    <!--emo&:p--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/tounge.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='tounge.gif' /><!--endemo--> I only just wandered over from the S&I forums (got bored with the same stupid suggestions over and over)

    SO, if someone could kindly tell me how to take pics w/ no hud, or how to remove the hud, I would be GLAD to spend an extra 20 min learning how to do that. I have some more pics (a few new ones with a lot more action that the few pidly things I posted) but I'll respect your wish and not post anything that's breaking "da rules"

    Your pictures are full of custom models. Those aren't appropriate for this thread. That is described in teh rules. Same with your HUD icons. If you don't know how to remove them, dont post pictures. We don't remove them. We just aim around them.
  • Jean_Luc_PicardJean_Luc_Picard Join Date: 2003-02-03 Member: 13051Members
    The only custom models I'm using now are the greyscale alien models (EXACTLY same as aliens, just in greyscale instead of color)

    I have gone back to standard rines (got bored with AvP WAY to fast) and I hardly think the custom guns are THAT big a deal...

    Sorry, I didn't realize I had to crop the pictures. My bad

    1. Crop your pictures
    2. No text or crosshairs should be visible (pics should look like they're actually taken by a camera) and should be removed before the picture is posted.
    3. Only best pictures (nothing of common images or situations) We need drama and excitement.
    4. This isn't a thread for silly or goofy pictures. They need to be serious in nature. They should try and capture the serious side of NS.
    5. Excessive custom models are not desirable. Default models are prefferable.

    Time to put up some criticism myself too. Didnt like to simply say "Dats nice" but now we got some more pics and green gorgie (Kylie) here, so...
    Lets start from page 15 now
    (wont say nothing about Luc Picard's pics)

    Foxtrot, thats almost like some camera man is really being pushed away from action where giant onos has been trapped in corner and is being slaughtered. "NO PICTURES! THERES NOTHING TO SEE HERE." Woulda be right caption for that big guy in corner <!--emo&:p--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/tounge.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='tounge.gif' /><!--endemo-->

    DethGaunt "Myimgs.com account is out of views"

    ShdwStal
    First one was... enlightening, lots of light and explosion. Nothing much. It happens.
    Second one had a good idea but theres no drama in single marine running against Cow, which doesnt even notice him.
    'The Fade' pictures in fact was success. Not anything utterly spectacular but it gives a grin.

    Green gorge in corner (Kylie)
    Somethings missing in first pic. True, there is blood and skulk in point-blank distance. But little less conversation, little more action.
    I thought lerk picture is like a nature-photographers shot <!--emo&:p--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/tounge.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='tounge.gif' /><!--endemo--> "Dis here is da lerk flyin on da marin." Rare picture, cant name many occasions when lerk swoops that close and isnt biting you all the time.
    Pic number three: ouch o_o
    Fourth: "Kjeh kjeh, missed me. Stupid lerk... whats that flapping still behind me?"
    Five and six are wee bit too regular. Could use more drama over here.

    Zerobyte
    First one is great in my opinion. This should be how marines first see those egs. "Hey, whatcha dat dramatically glowing, blubbing thing in middle of da passage? Lets go eat it."
    That hallway with fade in middle of steam was also nice. Rest are average but not bad at all.

    Sudzz
    Thats a tiny picture but not too bad, keep on shooting (with camera).
    Second one was nice though <!--emo&:p--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/tounge.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='tounge.gif' /><!--endemo-->

    And lastly, heres my humble instructions about HUD icons, three pages afar. For those in need:
    <!--QuoteBegin--></div><table border='0' align='center' width='95%' cellpadding='3' cellspacing='1'><tr><td><b>QUOTE</b> </td></tr><tr><td id='QUOTE'><!--QuoteEBegin-->About removing the HUD icons:

    Dont know nothing about Paint, your only hope is to aim somewhere else. And when you cut off portion of image cause of icons, use black mask (not white, it tends to be too obvious *cut*)

    Photoshop: Nothing is easier. Use healing brush or other similar. Press Alt+click somewhere near the icon and follow the lines. Most visible problem here is motion tracking circles which are actually very little line spread on big oval. Even it looks big, a circle is still a circle and it is known to be empty inside.
    Clone stamp also works, but "healer" is much faster here. The bigger hud icons are much harder to remove, best way is to cut the camera shot to line them out. Though clone stamp helps here much and is easy to remove every hud icon from darker pictures.

    Nice way to take good screenies is also <u>always</u>keep in mind to take those screenies. In every game even in middle of action keep in mind.
    I binded snapshot key to "T" so its easy to take fast shots when opportunity strikes ("T" is now my new upgrade: 500$ digi-camera).
    Also tapping makes much easier to capture firing in action and lucky poses. Its matter of luck to take those good pics, this is combat photographing and you cant shout that marine to "Raise your left elbow littlebit, you look fat that way."
    And remember kids, no lens flares. You can get so amazing pictures its hard to believe they are actually from this game.

    Ill post pics later today. Hope I got some good action on 'film'.<!--QuoteEnd--></td></tr></table><div class='postcolor'><!--QuoteEEnd-->

    And that Tower Screenshot is serious - a gorge sneaked into that temp base we were using to attack and built that tower.

    2.0 is probably better. I was thinking of playing 2.0 so that i could use all of the observer options. So i could get some better angles. Go right ahead.
