Movies Where The Good Guy Loses.

Recommend any?
Woah...I almost spelt any as anie. Scary.
Anyway, I haven't seen any good movies where the protagonist(<--big word=pwn) loses at the end. Ha anyone seen any that they'd recommend? Well, Gladiator featured the good guy dying at the end. But I mean like, the bad guy wins.
Edit: Probably should have been more specific, I meant action/sci-fi movies. (Bday party next weekend! w00tcookies!)

er... saving private ryan, ONE of the protags dies.. that's obviously famous at these forums..
Leon, protag deathage... but like SPR, it's a happy ending still..
that first one is truly a protag death movie.
i'll try to remember the title.. someone help me out, tho!! WWI? hero dies? =\
Saving Private Ryan... but that's just 6 of the 8 men dieing, hella sad though.
leon, SPR, road to perdition, etc..
the protagonist, though he DIES, is still WINNING...
he wants protags LOSING. hmm...
Of Mice and Men
Read the book too.

All he wanted to do was tend the rabbits! Was that too much to ask?
Shakespeare's Othello. You can't get much more classic, and you can't find many more evil characters than Iago.
[edit]Action/sci-fi? That changes things a bit. Chances are most answers will end up being a horror/sci-fi blend because protagonists never seem to "win" in better horror films

I know! Oh god why!? *Cries*
christian bale's foray into the big-films bizz!!!
american psycho... he really does lose, at the end.
[edit] Except not... I completely forgot about American Psycho. [/edit]
It's just one of those movies where everybody loses. Heck, I don't even know if there is a clear protagonist -- everyone's either evil or a jerk in their own personal way. Not too much unlike regular people, actually...
Well. Although it may not fit, I suggest seeing "The Game" simply because it's a good movie.

No, the protagonist doesn't die, but the guy who turns out to be good does. At least, I think he was good.
The only movie I've ever seen where the protagonist loses everything at the end...Fallen

And the World War I film is All Quiet On The Western Front.
Lessee... Out of the Past sticks out pretty strongly, I really liked that one because Robert Mitchum was such a badass in it. Double Idemnity as well. Criss Cross is supposed to be good, I haven't seen it. Also check out The Third Man, which was written by Graham Greene, so it has really awesome dialogue (compare it to Double Idemnity, for example).
If you want something more recent, that's tougher, as there aren't many films with bad turns nowadays. U-Turn was the most annoying movies I've ever seen (stupid Oliver Stone), but it was a reasonably effective noir parody (watch out for J Lo's terrible acting).
Edit: I am retarded and do not read 2 posts up before replying.
