O Improved the chat visuals (changed the font and colors and moved it so that it doesn't overlap other HUD elements) (bug #174).
O Fixed chat and death messages not showing up while being digested (bug #161).
O Fixed right clicking not properly canceling a building in commander mode (bug #197).
O Fixed bug where spectators couldn't see living player's chat (bug #10).

    stim-packs huh? I can see sequential cat-med-cat-med packing letting inventive comms getting a ninja marine into place super quick but I'm sure they'll catch stuff like that in testing before it reaches 2.1 =/

    Attacks are the same in CO and NS maps. The legendary lerk bite is apperently coming back in both.

    This is really interesting stuff, especially the cat-packs. (I understand how lerk bite's important for most, but I can get along with either spikes or bite, to be honest. (: ) I eagerly await to see how much of this makes it through testing.

    If focus only affects slot 1, does it still have the same weapon delay time (or any)? Just curious.

    If spikes are removed completly that 100% sucks... just think, there are no more mid to long-range ways to take out a phase gate or a way to attack marines from a distance... spore doesn't count.
    Why?
    HA counters spores.

    Hmmph. First they make the fade unplayable for modemers by pushing rockets to slot 4, and now they make it so I'll be unable to do anything useful (well, I guess umbra and scream will still be useful) with a lerk.

    That sucks.... no more sniper-type alien class except for the fade, but its an energy hog.

    I personally think that lerk should be just like 1.0x. Get rid of primal scream, its effect is not really worth it anymore since you need to almost constantly "attack" with it.

    Focus was good with it going to all(?) attacks, but now its just plain terrible. For example, if I have lv3 focus that means I have a 60% delay and only a 30% bonus.
    If I can get lets say 10 constant bites in 30 secs doing 800dmg. But with that 60% delay, I'll only beable to get 6 attacks out doing only doing 624 dmg. Why would anyone want that? (Timelimit is off, I'm just making an example.)

    I never experienced this lerk bite so I cannot say for certain besides:

    spiking a building? that takes forever.

    Being a coke head marine is alright with me.

    Glad the hive went up. Glad focus went on a certain slot - I think that it will be more to an advantage because I don't bite randomly or run in circles - my attacks are v ery planned.

    Yum stuff.

    HURRAH MY BITE IS BACK!!!!! But losing spikes, that just cuts me real deep there... The lerk is all about support as well as asssault, picking its shadowy corners and creating havoc and chaos in a marine patrol as they try to blast the cursed thing!!! This creates time and breathing space to get aliens a chance at counter attack. Spores, ok but now completely stuffed at doing 5 health damage to a vanilla marine, id personally rather get rid of PS as well and go back to the lerks almighty 1.00 stage! With alot more health now than 1.0x days (65 health wasnt it?) the elusive lerk with PS usually cannot be caught and thus ur team is owned by super skulks and gorges health spraying like crazy...

    Also give me my babblers back!! Support the adopt-a-Babbler scam...erm *scheme* by reading the sig, go on send all your money to me and my babbler saving research today!

    With focus, you do more damage per bite. That translates into more damage that you can deal to a res node per single attack. (If the node is elec, you won't go in for a few seconds and back out, you hit and fall back to heal and then hit again.) Allowing skulks the ability to rip HA armor off quickly. Get 3 skulks on a HA dealing 97.5 points of damage a chomp, times 6 chomps and that's 585 points of damage done in about a second.

    I wonder what they plan to do with the lerk. With lerk bite replacing spikes, the aliens won't have a ranged attack anymore, meaning that you can't sit in the vent and harrass the comm or rines as easily, especially if they reach heavy.

    its easy, get rid of primal scrream or spores, both ways i like my lerk with spikes and bite for assassination and stealth attacks to buy time for skulsk and fades to converge on the marine patrol tyring to get that seige point up. Although it took way more skill in 1.0x with 65 health, now i believe it will be a very viable tactic although skulks should still be able to take HA with team work.

    Also as for umbrea, bite bite bite, they have to :

    a) get close
    b) hope that there arent any mariens nearby
    c) umbra lasts 2 seconds, they will go thru adren liek theres no tommorow and not all bullets will be stopped.

    Whats the difference here to , say a skulk or two being umbrad and biting?? 25 damge per hit thats what. I dont see how any rational lerk would expose themselves to that type of danger by losing 30+ res when a skulk that costs nothing can do a better job.

    Wha'? This sounded like a joke to me first, adding bite and stimpacks, which has been shot down numerous of times on the S&I forum.

    Ah well, I feel a bit nostalgic about spikes but on the other hand, thats not really what defined the lerk. The lerk was all about spores and umbra. Oh, and vents. And that really wont change.

    Though I liked how a lerk could slowly tear down heavies if skulks distracted them. Ah well, you have to accept change.

    And, of course, there is nothing saying that this is final. Rember the lowering of medpack cost?

    Yea, but time is everything. With lv3 focus, you can only bite less than 2 times in the same amount of time that you can do 3 bites.

    So, would you rather do 2 bites doing 208 dmg or 3 bites doing 240 dmg?

    Sure, focus is good for 1 bite attacks, but the cons greatly outweigh the pros. If focus just lost its delay, or maybe only slowed your attacks down by 10% a level, or raised the damage you do more, then it would be perfect.

    Er... this had better not have the same effect as setting rate to 9999, otherwise your going to end up with a lot of p***ed off 56kers

    Guys - cl_rate is out of all valve games, and it shouldnt have been left in ns. What you are thinking of is "rate", which will not be locked. That said, if the cl_rate lock does cause a problem then you know flayra will not alienate the 56k players(but 56k players should not be using "cl_rate", they should be using "rate")
