dewd, I just used psi to cause a star to go supernova!! you guys probably missed it because the star was 157.4 million light years away... </heckle>
I think lolfighter is right -- it's smart to be skeptical. You may not be likely to die from believing something beyond proof, but you ARE likely to get scammed...
about 5 years ago, I was going out with a 15 year old girl who dragged me to a psychic in Atlantic City, NJ. Being a psychic, and not even a very good one, the woman gave us a bunch of vague answers, and was outright wrong more than a psychic is supposed to be. After the 'reading' she offered to sell us a 'magic crystal' to bring us good luck, for like $35 bucks. Being sane, I of course declined, and my GF was actually **** at me because of it =P
So many people throw their money at the paranormal; some mainstream, some not. Be it calling phone psychics, giving money to faith healers, or putting money in the basket at church, you're giving money to something you have no proof is legitimate... at least at church, the money goes to social services like soup kitchens...
As for the psy ball thing... haven't your mothers, or anyone, ever told you to envision yourself in the desert under the blazing sun when you're cold? or picture yourself in the arctic when you're too hot? Your mind can trick your body into feeling things, to some degree...
I guess what it all comes down to is the fact that, if you want to believe something, you will, and not my post or lol's or anyone's is gonna change that... if I wanted to believe I could move pens with my mind, I could swear til my dying breath that I could do it, even if I only THOUGHT I moved a pen a millimeter with my mind once in my life... but where would believing that get me? I'd rather not believe such things, because I can move more IDEAS with my mind by keeping it rational and clear of things that are beyond proof... the human mind IS capable of incredible feats... via reasoning and science...
I'll stop trying to spoil people's fun now
Even if the supernova is that far away we would still be effected, theoretically. Wow what am I now a damn scientist. Guess I might as well try the damn PSI ball thing again lets hope i get lucky again.
A real psionist doesn't bother trying to prove anything with it, and doesn't try to make a profit. That is all.
For those saying that you want solid proof that it exists... Prove that it DOESN'T. You have the testimony of quite a few posters in this thread including myself, and if need-be, I can get a friend of mine to register and testify. We've HAD it work, so you can't say that we're all lying. Look at Venmoch. He was a skeptic, and figured "This is probably silly and a waste of time." Look at him now.
I'm not really interested in Ouija boards. They're a little dodgy. However, tarot cards are pretty cool.
Also, this may sound harsh but... If a boy became so nervous about dying that he KILLED HIMSELF.... Well, I'm going to stop myself there before I say something that will get me tempbanned.

I'm skeptical of most things.
But that is some weird stuff.
