What if we save up 100 EP (total) every couple of days, for our "donation" fund once the next round starts. Just hold on to it. (this is seperate from those emergency help funds). It's not too much (I personally get almost 200 PP per planet overnight at this point).
Eventually (over a few weeks/months) we can find out who OUR best player is (TSA) and all of that money we saved will go to them, giving him an unreal capability to advance. 1 person has a hard time getting in the top 3; 40 people supporting that 1 person however......
Thinking tactically is one thing, helping each other out when we're under attack is too, but thinking strategically to win the game... there are some interesting possibilities

Sure it works- save up a small amount of PP every other day or so (transform them into astro dollars I suppose) and when the time is right (a few months into the next round?), flood the highest ranking TSA player with it so that he has the capability to boost to the top. This is not to say you should sacrifice YOUR score and game, certainly you should continue to advance (who knows, maybe you might be the top player who we give the cash to!).

TSA is a killer name, I propose for beta 4 that people don't sign up under a tag name or we will be come targets. We get our own webpage, where we can post fleet movements etc. Rather than a stringent alliance perhaps more like co-operative.

I've got part of a system, along with Renegade, and after teching up for a while, I decided to go after a system to call my own.
Beta Masym looked ripe for the taking, with what appears to be a bunch of newbies. So I built up a fleet of battleships, destroyers, colony ships, and transports, and sent them to the last three planets in the system, safe from any possible problems the newbies could cause.
Except for one, his planet was number 10 on the list, so I had some transports and battleships going for him. When I signed on today, I noticed I had a letter from him asking for me not to attack him. I weighed the idea of letting him live because he's new against the idea of how much I suffered and how often I had to restart. In the end, it didn't matter as I couldn't stop my ships then, and when I signed on a while ago, he was gone and I am the new owner of two of the three planets (colony ship couldn't take the third, need to wait a couple hours to get Culture to the next level).
So I've had my first taste of a bit of power, and now I'm hungry for the rest of the newbies in the system. Only one of whom will seem to be a problem, but nothing to worry about.
Is there a way to take over a planet without populating it? because I wanna take this planet out of the guys control but/ I don't wanna waste my culture by populating it... Can I do this or did I miss somthing?
Also can a planet build another starbase while under siege? because I wanna keep 1 destryoer to siege this planet to keep it from building anything but dont want him to suddenly get a lvl 1 starbase and destroy it.....
Something strange just happened and I have no idea how. Situation is this: I started game on last sunday, so no 5000+ level hydrofarms. I built up three destroyer fleet and shot our systems idleplayer (and that way got one level of course). Two hours later on that night, my colony ship reached Beta aliath 9 (empty planet) and conquered it, population: 1 as it should be. Whole yesterday I collected PP:s to build up robo- and hydrofarms for my new planet and in the meantime sold the SU. And now suddenly couple hours ago, Beta aliath 9 population suddenly jumps to same level as in my main planet o_o Couple hours ago its 1, and then its suddenly in level 9. Population is maxed now, social science isnt high enough. But how come my new planet suddenly get couple billion species dwelling onto its surface?

I mean, how many PP/h are you getting off each individual planet...
im currently at 25 pp/h on each planet, 4 planets, but is this too low? should i be aiming for 30, 40? i mean, working on planets, instead of taking over other planets...
Though I do have already two worlds... So I can take over the universe!
But supply unit I have, sell should I it now? $1.799,30 price now is and me stupid sent my colony ship to Beta aliath 9 instead of 3. And the only way to transfer PP was Spend all points and then buying PP's again (which go to first planet in line)?
edit: seems like the SU price is in skies now so ill better sell it and start spending.
im just attacking some afk'ers for their xp, then ill take over one of their planets and start in their system, even though i cant use spend all points
i cant go to a spend all points system because im not strong enough to muscle my way in, and those guys have it under wraps

Beta Masym looked ripe for the taking, with what appears to be a bunch of newbies. So I built up a fleet of battleships, destroyers, colony ships, and transports, and sent them to the last three planets in the system, safe from any possible problems the newbies could cause.
Except for one, his planet was number 10 on the list, so I had some transports and battleships going for him. When I signed on today, I noticed I had a letter from him asking for me not to attack him. I weighed the idea of letting him live because he's new against the idea of how much I suffered and how often I had to restart. In the end, it didn't matter as I couldn't stop my ships then, and when I signed on a while ago, he was gone and I am the new owner of two of the three planets (colony ship couldn't take the third, need to wait a couple hours to get Culture to the next level).
So I've had my first taste of a bit of power, and now I'm hungry for the rest of the newbies in the system. Only one of whom will seem to be a problem, but nothing to worry about.
Also can a planet build another starbase while under siege? because I wanna keep 1 destryoer to siege this planet to keep it from building anything but dont want him to suddenly get a lvl 1 starbase and destroy it.....
Situation is this: I started game on last sunday, so no 5000+ level hydrofarms. I built up three destroyer fleet and shot our systems idleplayer (and that way got one level of course). Two hours later on that night, my colony ship reached Beta aliath 9 (empty planet) and conquered it, population: 1 as it should be.
Whole yesterday I collected PP:s to build up robo- and hydrofarms for my new planet and in the meantime sold the SU. And now suddenly couple hours ago, Beta aliath 9 population suddenly jumps to same level as in my main planet o_o Couple hours ago its 1, and then its suddenly in level 9. Population is maxed now, social science isnt high enough.
But how come my new planet suddenly get couple billion species dwelling onto its surface?
