Can anyone send me 400 PP, thats all I need to stop a small attack on me. I'll then be able to have 3 BSs to stop the 2 that are about to attack my remote planet.
PLEASE SEND MY 400 PP, thats all! I have 5 Hours and I just spent all the PP I had before I saw the warning!
<b>400 PP, is all I am asking!</b>
Please, it will save me from losing a battle! I'll be able to build and send the 3rd BS to the planet before he attacks!
BTW: If anyone's going to fling some cash my way, PM me about it so I know <!--emo&;)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/wink.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='wink.gif'><!--endemo-->
without transports you simply blow up their starbase (if you succeed) and then sit in orbit keeping the planet in a state of 'siege' which kinda mucks them up but doesn't kill them ^^; It's like locking down a hive without killing the structure itself really... It's there but they can't really use it because you're sitting on it =3 If you bring in enough transports to wipe out the population you automatically get it for yourself as long as you have enough culture ^^
21:21:37 - Oct 16 We just colonized Alpha Venabulum 6! Congratulations! 14:37:26 - Oct 16 Congratulations! Your attacking fleet was victorious at Alpha Venabulum 1. So their starbase is destroyed... then what? Can they build ships?
BTW: Who should I attack first? The guy with the higher population, and slightly higher science, or the guy with a little bit lower science, little bit lower population, but more culture (He's going to expand first). I think the first guy is going to be a threat soon... he REALLY grew fast, but the other guy has been a LOT more active.
I'm still the largest in my region though <!--emo&:)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/smile.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='smile.gif'><!--endemo-->
BTW: Can anyone wire me around 200 or 300 PPs? -50 -26ish area. PM me if you can...
I'm sure it tells you the details in 'siege' in the Astrowars glossary but the main reason you want the Starbase out the way is because it's their last line of defence before you nuke their population out of existance with transports ^^ The only thing they can do to stop you really while you're in orbit is send in a fleet from elsewhere or... um... that's about it =3
Well if I'm going to reap the whirlwind on this kraut, I'm going to need more then 3 destroyers. He's at level 3 starbase (10 defense), so I'll prepare for as if he's a level 4 (What, 16? That'd require at least 8 destroyers, I have physics at 6, so 10 should gaurantee a win (Don't laugh, I know we're a really really young system... but better kill the competition while they're behind, right?)
10 destroyers (- 3 I already have) = 210 PPs... that's like 20 hours of waiting <!--emo&:(--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/sad.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='sad.gif'><!--endemo-->
Not to mention the 360 PPs I'd need to make enough transports to go Kharak on his ****.
well you can build the outposts later really; as long as you keep 1 combat ship (destroyer, cruiser or Battleship) in orbit it stays sieged and he won't be able to do anything with the planet apart from maybe sell off his PPs for astrodollars (though you get a % of it thanks to your blockade <!--emo&;)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/wink.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='wink.gif'><!--endemo--> )
I found a new way to have fun! Sending huge fleets to systems far away with players who could never hope to stop you.
I just sent 6 BS and 3 C to a newbie system and in 2 days (its really far from home) he will die! He has a level 6 Starbase, and no PL, 2 cluture and 8 science, 2 planets. I sent him a message telling him he needs to defend himself! "Please put up a fight!" LOL HAHAHA I'll kill his 1 planet and then leave. I'm so evil!
Hee hee hee this lithuanian is soon going to regret not upgrading his starbase. I'm hoping to put both players in siege at the same time... then I'll mop em up.
Guys, when you are sending fleets, never never underestimate the opposition.
In the time it takes for your fleet to get to their planet, they can upgrade their starbase from level 0, from level 7... this is just my experience from a guy when i sent it from 4 planets away.
the guy is very aggressive and powerful, and im **** scared <!--emo&:(--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/sad.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='sad.gif'><!--endemo-->
he hasnt attacked me yet, but he is focusing on wiping out my ally. he has already taken one planet and put the other into a HUGE siege [30 BS, anyone?]
I got a nice jumpstart in my game since some poor guy sent me 3 BS when I just had 3 planets. I went from a level 0 starbase to lvl 10. What a shock for that guy, and I got 7 SUs. The best method is overkill, and any starbase can easily be boosted to lvl 10 for a measly 400 PPs. 30 BSs is pretty tough, but you can probably take it out.
I feel so bad for these people that are sandwhiched right between two other stars. Not just nearby, but literraly, a biology of 2 would reveal them on the map. I'm kind of lucky, I've got some breathing room around me.
BTW: I just got a new star on my map. I click it, and it shows every player as being more or less AFK. Do I need a higher skill in biology to get 'real stats'?
Okay, I just colonized my first planet. Is there any way to use my existing PP to power it up? Don't tell me I have to wait 5 hours to get a god damn *FARM*...
you're probably better buying a robo fac first though; more instant gratification for your buck <!--emo&;)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/wink.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='wink.gif'><!--endemo-->

I was kinda like that too after being so used to Master's of Orion 2. Is there any way of seeing what fleets are about or do you just see red highlighted planets and go 'oh, theres a fleet there' and hope it's not as big as yours? =/
<b>edit:</b> AFK, lots of those about... make sure they don't come back XD
