I just got the "Improved" Gamespy video that is 600mb and did a side-by-side comparrison to the original 500mb one (also from Gamespy).

that's all i can say to describe it. The color is so much better its not funny. The sound too is also much, much better. The video seems a little brighter too, which was one of the only problems w/ the original.
I recommend everyone who downloaded the 500mb one, delete it and download this one. This is the absolute best footage of HL2 to date that I've seen, and I've seen it all. :)
Hmm. I've already seen all the "ordinary" movies (through a combination of library broadband and patient home-56k use) so I can't bring myself to get a 600meg behemoth...
Wonder if it'll turn up on a magazine CD, like PCGamer or whatever.
*walks off, fantasing about the Manipulator and big heavy objects*
