<div class="IPBDescription">Can I turn it off ?</div> Hey ppl,
I'm sure you all know that when that skulk comes heading towards you, you empty your lmg clip into the thing ( <!--emo&;)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/wink.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='wink.gif'><!--endemo--> ) and when your clip is empty you know that you could kill it with one more lowsy pistol shot, but then you discover the the damn thing instantly reloads and you have to keep jumping like a madman hoping to stay alive...
well, can I turn auto reload off <!--emo&???--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/confused.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='confused.gif'><!--endemo--> ?
[Of course this would only be on the very exceptional occasion that I actually play marines *barf*]

2. I do not jump like some **obscenity** trying to exploit the hitboxes.
3. No, you cannot turn auto reload off, it is mod-specific(ie, if a mod dev team wants to turn it off, they can, but individuals can't).
EDIT: **** is a four letter word? :/
Are you stupid or do you just not read the forums properly? Its been clearly stated that marine hitboxes are bugged, since when they jump(and even more, crouch in mid-air), they become much harder to hit. PLUS, theres the exploit of jumping backwards so you aren't slower like you SHOULD be.
It will all be fixed in 1.1.
Hitboxes...well, Half-Life register hits with the help of hitboxes, which is why you can't bit in a random area and hit someone, that isn't even nearby, or something similar. Actually thats a bad example, but its really hard to explain.
A model is made up of the model, skin, and hitboxes. The model, is what shows shape. Skin shows the <i>look</i> of the object, without a skin, a model is just dull grey. Hitboxes are set up on the model, and in order to harm a player, you need to attack any hitbox on his model.
With the HLModelViewer you can see hitboxes for all players/structures(though they r incorrect in NS, considering where to aim to hit a skulk etc), but I don't know where to get it.
1st: ur mean
2nd: this IS the new player forum
3rd: you are way off topic
So now, is there any way I can change my reload problem without doing something that could be considered cheating? <!--emo&:)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/smile.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='smile.gif'><!--endemo-->
there is no way to turn it off,
best thing to avoid auto-reload is to not go down to 0 with you bullets,
swich before you run out
edit: that pic is funny, but might be deleated by the mods
hehe
Guys... I don't know if your weaponswitch speed is different,
but I either can't switch while reloading, or it is like very very slow... <!--emo&:(--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/sad.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='sad.gif'><!--endemo-->
And it isn't really very easy to stop firing before your clip is empty, wel at least not when ur a triggerhappy <censored> like me <!--emo&:D--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/biggrin.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='biggrin.gif'><!--endemo-->
hehe
Might wanna try out fastswitch
hud_fastswitch 1 in console
[/edit]
I just did it. and I actually cannot switch weapons while mid-reload Jower... <!--emo&:(--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/sad.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='sad.gif'><!--endemo-->
fwd scroll is switch next weap
bck scroll is reload
maybe that makes a difference <!--emo&:(--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/sad.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='sad.gif'><!--endemo--> ?
It makes the numberkeys switch to the weapon under that key directly instead of bringing down the big switch weapon hud thingy
If there's more than one weapon in the category however it will still bring down the menu
But since there's no category with more than one in each in NS that's no major issue <!--emo&:)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/smile.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='smile.gif'><!--endemo-->
This is weird though, I can't see why you can't switch mid-reload, but we others can... it simply shouldn't be *happening. I mostly use lastinv to switch between my weapons tho, tried that? Probably won't make a difference, but hell, any cure is welcome for most problems.
bind x "lastinv"
Incase you were wondering what I meant. It switches between your current weapon and the one you had selected previously.

I think your mousewheel causes the problem.
I use kp_0 for lmg and kp_1 for pistol. And i can switch while reloading.
So bind your weapon switch buttons to keyboard and see how it goes. <!--emo&???--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/confused.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='confused.gif'><!--endemo-->
Switching with mousewheel works fine
I just suggested the fastswitch cause that makes it easy to switch with the numberkeys
I don't know how it comes you can't switch in mid-reload though
Can't say I really feel liek using keyboard, but I'll try, and if it works it'll have to do for that lone time I play rines <!--emo&:)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/smile.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='smile.gif'><!--endemo-->
Thx for all the help so far <!--emo&:)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/smile.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='smile.gif'><!--endemo-->
If you really want to use the mousewheel to fastswitch your weapons, you have to use a script. In most other games, nextinv and lastinv work but not in NS (for some reason). You need something like this:
<!--c1--></span><table border='0' align='center' width='95%' cellpadding='3' cellspacing='1'><tr><td><b>CODE</b> </td></tr><tr><td id='CODE'><!--ec1-->alias weapon1 "slot1; bind mwheeldown weapon2; unbind mwheelup"
alias weapon2 "slot2; bind mwheeldown weapon3; bind mwheelup weapon1"
alias weapon3 "slot3; bind mwheeldown weapon4; unbind mwheelup"
bind mwheeldown weapon2<!--c2--></td></tr></table><span class='postcolor'><!--ec2-->
To use this script, either stick it in a file called autoexec.cfg in your NS folder, or put it in a file called (whatever).cfg, and put the line <!--c1--></span><table border='0' align='center' width='95%' cellpadding='3' cellspacing='1'><tr><td><b>CODE</b> </td></tr><tr><td id='CODE'><!--ec1-->exec (whatever).cfg<!--c2--></td></tr></table><span class='postcolor'><!--ec2--> in your autoexec.cfg.
Or if you really want to you could type out the whole script into the console every time <!--emo&:)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/smile.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='smile.gif'><!--endemo-->
Is there anyone whom I can send my config file, who can do it for me? I mean, lol, how in our dear Lords name do I open the cfg file <!--emo&:(--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/sad.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='sad.gif'><!--endemo-->
Man I get a headache by just looking at that stuff
this really isn't my kinda schmoo <!--emo&:(--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/sad.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='sad.gif'><!--endemo-->
A cfg file is nothing more than a text file with console commands in it. All you have to do is open it using notepad. You can probably do this by simply double clicking on a .cfg file and when windows pops up its "what program do you want to use to open this file?" box, click notepad.
To do that stuff I suggested in the last post, all you have to do is open (or create, if it doesn't exist) a file called autoexec.cfg. Basically, create a new text file and rename it to that. Now copy and paste the aliases into it. Now you're done.

He isn't stupid. He is merely pointing out that you are a lame scrub. Quit complaining about people that are better than you and get some skill.
lame ppl
First of all you should be able to switch with the mousewheel midreload
So I bet your comp is bugged...
hehe
And second you can't go around telling people who don't know stuff that you can just create the file autoexec.cfg
If you don't have show dos extensions on you'll just create a autoexec.cfg.txt
hehe

hehe<!--QuoteEnd--></td></tr></table><span class='postcolor'><!--QuoteEEnd-->
Actually there is a solution to that. Even without extensions showing, you can create autoexec.cfg
You simply put it in quotes when saving it =D
"autoexec.cfg"
But did you tell him that ? <!--emo&:)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/smile.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='smile.gif'><!--endemo-->

Yes I did. Just now. I wasn't the original person who posted about the .cfg files anyhow. I told him as soon as you brought it up =D
The <b>hud_fastswitch</b> variable only works if you use the number keys to switch weapons. Do you use the number keys to switch weapons? If not, learn to. <!--emo&:)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/smile.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='smile.gif'><!--endemo-->
<!--c1--></span><table border='0' align='center' width='95%' cellpadding='3' cellspacing='1'><tr><td><b>CODE</b> </td></tr><tr><td id='CODE'><!--ec1-->alias weapon1 "slot1; bind mwheeldown weapon2; unbind mwheelup"
alias weapon2 "slot2; bind mwheeldown weapon3; bind mwheelup weapon1"
alias weapon3 "slot3; bind mwheeldown weapon4; unbind mwheelup"
bind mwheeldown weapon2<!--c2--></td></tr></table><span class='postcolor'><!--ec2--><!--QuoteEnd--></td></tr></table><span class='postcolor'><!--QuoteEEnd-->
If you also use the number keys to switch weapons, you'll want to rebind your number keys from slotx to weaponx.
<!--c1--></span><table border='0' align='center' width='95%' cellpadding='3' cellspacing='1'><tr><td><b>CODE</b> </td></tr><tr><td id='CODE'><!--ec1-->bind "1" "weapon1"
bind "2" "weapon2"
bind "3" "weapon3"
bind "4" "weapon4"<!--c2--></td></tr></table><span class='postcolor'><!--ec2-->
I use the arrow keys to move, and i've bound the keypad keys to weapons, chuckle, request med/ammo, etc.
