Have you tried uninstalling and reinstalling Subnautica?
Sure. Many many times:
- I've uninstalled the game
- I've uninstalled Epic Launcher
- I've used regedit and cleaned all the data with hands
- I've installed the game and the launcher on different drive
- I've used "vrmode none" and "force d3d9"
- I've changed account in Epic Launcher
- I've even installed a pirate version of Subnautica (just for test!!) with the same glitching results
So. I've came to conclusion that the game keeps somewhere config file that I can't find.
Or there is some cloud synchronisation with broken data.
I think I can buy a Steam version and check it. But no good results guaranteed )))
There can be one more thing. I've build a Cyclops very near the floating air pump. Maybe this somehow broke the game.
But I've reinstalled it so many times!
@madsauce@ntrox here had FMOD init issues in the output_log.txt.. looks like the audio on the video card (HDMI?) was used and FMOD couldn't init seemingly because of a driver issue, as the issue is fixed after nVidia released version 417.71 -- a lot of people use nVidia cards and I imagine using the audio on board the graphics card via HDMI or DisplayPort is pretty common too so this may be a pretty big cause / solution to the FMOD problem.

I've disabled NVIDIA audio device through Device Manager. With no effect till driver update.

Thank you for that info @0x6A7232 and for the follow up on the driver fixing it for you @ntrox . I'll share this with the team so we can spread the word.
Something strange is going on...
Yesterday the game have crashed without any erros. I think my notebook just reached some top temperatures.
Today there is no sound in the game and the old issues are back. With empty storage and disabled game menu.
Very interesting...
Also there is no sound in Rocket League. Also today.
I think this is all about VR and Geforce Experience.
1. Geforce Experience software detects Subnautica as "Subnautica VR". Don't know why really.
2. In the keyboard settings (before loading any savegame) all keys were bined to "Space". Also don't know how it happend.
"-vrmode none" doesn't work, so there must be another way to fix it...
Finally SOLVED )) Once again.
This time the reason is drivers update for Intel HD 630.
I've updated them by hands through Device Manager and that's it!
Everything is good now.
If you want a more seamless driver update experience, you could try Driver Hub (just be sure to de-select any optional software you don't want when installing -- nothing bad, but it's unnecessary). Pretty slick interface, and lets you download drivers for all the different little things that normally require meticulously tooling through the OEM's website.
You need to delete the webcache folder of epicgames launcher. This post - https://droidtheory.com/fix-epic-game-launcher-not-working/ explains how to do that. I was able to resolve this issue by deleting the webcache folder, try it and let me know if it works for you.
