Ive got this message if it crashes:
The game crashed.
The crash report folder named "2016-10-31_183650" next to game executable
It would be great if you´d send it to the developer of the game!

Please fix that if you are able to... I love this game and i whould be realy sad if it whould crash every time.
if you have fixed it please contact me

If you are having issues with the game, we are sorry and we would like to help you. Please follow the instructions on the Subnautica Troubleshooting guide to help us help you. Almost all technical problems are covered in the guide. If the game used to run but after an update no longer does please Verify the Integrity of the Game Cache. See the Installation section of the Subnautica Troubleshooting guide for details.

If you need additional support chances are you are encountering one of the following:
    • Issues specific to your machine, in which case we can't fix the issue, but you can! The troubleshooting guide is what you really want. If necessary you can ask community members on these forums right here, the Steam forums, or the Discord chat for help to walk you through. Thankfully we have a very dedicated community experienced in tech support.
    • Issues specific to the Unity3D game engine we are using, in which case we can't fix the issue either. However, we aggregate those issues and send bug reports to Unity. If and when those issues actually get fixed is at the mercy of Unity.
    • Issues specific to Subnautica which lead to crashing. Please post the output log file on these forums or send it to us by email. The log files help us identify and fix corner cases, which allows us to build a better game. We almost never reply, but we analyze and aggregate them and take action where possible.
    • Non-crashing issues. No need to report those really. We already know about them. All script errors are automatically tracked and aggregated by Unity Analytics. All other gameplay related issues are being tracked and aggregated by our F8 feedback tool.

For anything else and generally speaking all the time really we encourage you to engage with the community. Our development team is very small and we simply don't have time to engage in one-to-one conversations. Sorry! Do yourself a favor and ask the community. They know everything. In fact they often know more than any single person on the development team. We, the developers, keep an eye on all community places. So if there is something we need to know we will know.

    Hey guys!

Subnautica is currently in Early Access and as such you may from time to time encounter bugs and in the worst case, crashes. If you have issues with stability of Subnautica, please see How to report Crashes.

If your issue is not crashing but has something to with with save/load then please continue reading. Examples of save/load bugs are:
    • Items missing from your inventory or storage containers
    • Items becoming other items
    • Submarines or bases missing
    • Status changes (energy, health, etc.)
    • Other stuff not coming up exactly like you left it

If you experience a bug like the above please make sure to send a report just like the crash report but in addition to that please send your save game directory. Do the following:

Follow the guide on Steam to locate the Subnautica folder. Then navigate to SNAppData:

Go into the SavedGames subdirectory. Copy the "test" directory to something like "test2". Delete the "CompiledOctreesCache" folder inside. Afterwards zip the "test2" folder and send it to me or create a new thread in this forum and attach the file.

    Thanks for helping us out!

Subnautica is currently in Early Access and as such you may from time to time encounter bugs and in the worst case, crashes. If you have issues with stability of Subnautica, please post your issues with as much detail as possible (video/screenshots/descriptions), followed by the following requested information:

    Example Topic Title:
[Crash] Open my Locker and Crash! [Version Number]

    1) Please run dxdiag.exe (search windows for it) on your systems and hit the button 'save all information' in the bottom right. Save this file for later.

    2) Navigate to your Subnautica Folder in Steam (should be steamapps\common\Subnautica)

    3) Open the Subnautica_Data folder and grab a copy of 'output_log.txt'

    PJAwuF0.png

    4) Upload all the text of these to something like http://pastebin.com/ and post the public links to them with your forum posts.

These 2 files will GREATLY help us in tracking down issues with Subnautica. Thanks!

Crashing launching or playing Subnautica? Follow these steps to make a good tech support post!

    Edit by Jonas:
We've also got a very similar guide with pictures for each step on Steam.
And as in every good tech support:
    • Please make sure that your Windows is up to date.
    • Please make sure that your drivers are up to date.
    • Please make sure your PC meets the minimum system requirements.
    • Please close all other applications before starting the game.
    • Have you tried turning it off and on again? ;)
