Yes, it's because all favourites show up regardless of build apparently.
Any chance this can be changed to at least show that the servers you're looking at are not running the same build as you?
Also, still noticing a few hit reg issues with spit against dodging marines (spit animation hits the marine, but no damage indication).

Tried it out real quick. I love the new layout of docking.
As for issues, I never crashed or anything like that, just minor things: 1) Skulk parasite crosshair sometimes didn't show up. 2) On docking, the inaccessible targetball court (on the left when approaching from lockers) has a glowing orange line where the wall connects to the floor. 3) The silence icon replaced the Onos stomp icon.
Man, dux, the changes on Docking look really great. I've always felt East Wing/Departures played in a weird way, and most marines would take the escalator corridor only to find a dead end. I love the fact that the rooms there got really enlarged.

You don't think that those abilities are going to be in the game right? Its just the numbers, quite a few of them have been there basically since release. You're still looking at another 4-6 months before any of those features are added.

Actually, babblers were unoficially announced for the upcoming content patch, which is probably arriving late january/early february. And I think the railgun is coming with this patch too... gorge tunnels and webs will probably come later.
And from watching those two youtube vids, the docking changes look great! Hopefully I'll be able to play a bit of this beta tonight
Maybe it's because I've forgotten how good this game can look in high (<i>forbidden</i>, we are not worthy) settings, but the changes look pretty damn good!

Does that mean this patch.... I dont think so
We need a patchlog, otherwise we cant try out this patch in pcws etc. which i guess is desirable given that playing it properly will test pretty well if something is broken, causes crashes or whatever.
(i dont like wasting time playing "find the changes")
I think they are just looking for technical and gameplay bugs, rather than balance feedback which is my guess on why they did not post notes. But either way I agree that a changelog would have been nice.. (and more enabling in terms of looking for bugs - the end goal of releasing these beta builds)

Yup.
Without changelog : Lets go look for what they changed!
Well if the real patch hits in a week, what is the point of trying to hide or making it extra annoying to find out the changes? I mean if ppl start whining now or in a week about something they dont want to agree on - does it make a difference? I mean sure they still could remove some stuff, its a beta patch so ppl should have in mind that its not 100% fix.
They are hoping to fix a lot of bugs and the number of changes will go up and down as it is tested, therefore it makes no sense to release a changelog before the actual patch because the changes now may not look at all like the actual 236 release changes. Although, there are two very important points that need to be stressed :
1) it's not good to post "Natural Selection 2 News Update - Beta Build 236 live on Steam" and not post anything about a changelog. In fact this has been the trend so far, changes not documented on the forums can be a real pain for some people.
2) changelog or major changes SHOULD be available in some form for those actually applying to test them. It makes no sense to play hide and seek with changes that we are supposedly testing. If you just play normally and expect to find bugs it won't happen until the patch is actually out.

Changelog will come, as stated, but for now find the crashes and the showstoppers like the main post and other users have said. This is a compatibility test first to ensure you can play the game, balance and gameplay will come after, hopefully signaled by a released changelog.
If you are looking for a real game, stick to the live build, as Hugh said. if you are looking to help ensure the patch releases smoothly (technically, not balance wise) please try it out.
@TSADrone: Yeah, its terrible. It is even more bad than dieing kids or dropped ice cream... srsly, get a life.
If they would post the change log, everyone would just discuss in the forums or play the normal game. If they don't post them, more people will try the beta.

I understand their reasoning for not posting the changelog(that is, not writing it yet) but I think it's actually counter-productive. Changelogs are exciting, and seeing them gets people pumped to try out the beta, thus increasing the odds of finding serious bugs before release. When it's just a mystery though, I think most people simply won't bother with it.
If there's a controversial gameplay change, people will quickly found out about it anyway, so hiding the changelog won't prevent those arguments. All it does is get people arguing about changelogs, as has happened consistently every single time thus far. It creates misinformation and confusion as people try to piece things together themselves instead of just reading the facts.
