They are. But we toned down the maximum Crag heal a bit so it isn't too OP (compared to the beta 229).

I think actually being able to play the game takes priority over balance fixes at this stage.
I've also noted that for quite some time arc's won't target cysts.
Hahaha, "pretty patient" isn't defined as "Posting in literally every topic on almost every page about it."
Fast Onos is pretty ###### on pubs anyway, since you never know who is going in the egg. Fast expansion is a far superior strategy, and it isn't lame/unfun. Blame the ###### commanders for only knowing how to win the easy way.
I thought arcs only target res nodes and hives?
With regard to B229, I like what I've seen so far (2 games so far). Server browser seems faster. Also game itself seems more responsive/smoother but I don't know if I'm imagining that lol. I noticed the console displays more stuff as a map is loading. Not sure the significance of that. Am yet to try the flamethrower since it's been tweaked.
Also marine buildings flash blue/black when they are under attack, but I'm sure it used to be red in 228. I don't know if this is intentional, but I preferred the red flashes as it was easier to see what exactly was being munched by skulks.
Will post more thoughts tomorrow once I've got more games done.

I think what I'm trying to say is, it's fine to avoid making balance changes in favour of more important things, but the changes that are made should not be secret.

The crag changes arent that bad. They just make sure that a marine with an axe cant kill a hive if there is a crag. Stalling for the aliens for a few extra seconds while the marine has to kill the crag. And I tested it, I could out axe a single crag on a have. (Try it on explore) w/o any upgrades. But I could not out damage 2 crags axing a hive.
Seems pretty legit to me.

I don't know what kind of servers you're ending up on, but on all the public servers I play on the comms do scan if you ask them to and if there's res. If they are newbies then tell them how to do it, and they will. And I've played on servers from USA through Europe through East Asia.

You should have been there in beta. Instead of focusing on what they didn't change lets focus on what they did. As for the crags be able to out heal a marine with an axe, thats not true. As alien comm I put down 5 crags and 2 marines with axes just cut the down like Paul Bunyan on speed.

Comparing differening LUA files and making sense of what was changed.
I also don't think they deliberately hide the changes, very few companies I've seen post a full change log of every minor change they do. Sucks yeah, just they seem to miss what they think is little, ending up being huge to the players.

Someone did a diff on the lua code and found the changes. Basically regen heals faster and gets its 'out of combat' bonus faster. Crags heal much faster too.

3 crags + hive vs 2 ARCS, always 100% hp
1 crag can keep up cyst (if we add the problem of cyst spawn.... gg)
+6000 damage with axe for kill one resource tower keep up by crag
More crashes playing/spectating
