Cup 6v6 for fun

Making a cup will be really difficult, the idea of showmatch are better IMO.
Please Dolce & Lebowski, don't use CET x). First we are in CEST right now, and GMT is quite better.

add: vlnc just mailed me. he has a 30 slot mumble server.

we would also need a beefy machine (preferably located in central europe :P)to run as gameserver. i think of a fresh restartet armory chamber or something similar. there has been a ~24 slot server which seemed to be very stable. cant remember name or admin.
i know the armorychambers are run by w0dk4. if someone has him in his contactlist pls ask him, if we can have his server with password protection. :)

Hm some Ideas to level the pings, because I would love to have an international cup.

What about...
If Europe plays against Australia it would be fair to use the westcoast or eastcoast server in USA because all players will ahve a Ping round aour 150.
But I don't have any Idea which server could be used for a match against the USA.
...or is there any African or Hawaiian server around? ;-)

An alternative is to play one round on a EU and one round on a USA server (the team which plays aliens has the home server)

In order to improve encounters between players and teams, we just made a chan on IRC called #ns2gather (Gamesurge server).
Please everyone, come there to make it a good reference for ns2 team playing.

Why not Saturday instead of Sunday? I've found that to be the best day for organizing matches with people from different timezones.

I am just afraid people would be inhibited play a match on a saturday because they are invited to are party or something similar :)

But you see Sunday for people in the USA might be Monday for people in AU or EU. I say Saturday as well.

yeah thats why i talked about regional play and not playing a cup. just some matches. you always have the time and lag problem with transatlantic games. maybe the matches for america and europe should be played seperatly.

im open to time and date suggestions but keep in mind you have to activate the players till tomorrow evening. especially if we change times often the chance to get enough players reduce.

A note about casting, if you want the games cast it will need to be a relatively reasonable time in Aus. For example, Sunday nights US or EU are a no go for me as that's Monday morning in Aus, and recording a game then may cause me to be fired for falling asleep at work ;). Friday night or Saturday night US time are perfect for me.

I'm super keen to cast one of these matchups, and just thought I would let you know in case you wanted me to.

In case a team needs a german player ( in-game-steam-nick -> gribble )who definitely is not be the best player but loves to play organized.

yeah, was fun. If we want NS2HD to record next time, we'll probably have to play at 10 am here. =P (7 pm for him)

edited because: I got the timezone calculations mixed up (of course if we are GMT+1 and he is GMT+10 there are 9 hours difference not 11 hours.)
