I'm really keen on seeing what the claws for the exo will be.

There's something about a Mac and Xbox 360 version but no notes on a Linux version. Is there any news on that? And Xbox version? For realz?
Btw.. ahem.. I bought 5 NS2 versions so far (the free one from christmas deal and one special edition included). Just, erm, expressing my hopes for a linux version ;)
(of course I won't get mad or anything if there's no linux version, but it would be ubernice though :))

Isnt there a Steam version for Linux out? I have a hazy memory telling me it was in development awhile back...
that makes me happy, bye bye flames :)

exoskeleton suit mech that can be equipped with either a mini-gun, plasma rifle or a claw.
Claw? :O
I truely hope that it wont end up like all the other PC starter companies, once they get a head into the console feeding trough the PC fans end up in the toilet.
Epic , Crytek , Valve ( going that way ) , Rockstar .... not to mention all the PC franchise that went to the consoles as well , CoD , BF , Alan Wake , Halo , Dues Ex , etc etc.
... even MMO's are going console ( the PC versions take a hit control wise as the constrols are designed first and foremost with a gamepad in mind ).
There are strong hints that they are working on it but nothing serious until now. But Valve is more the "BAM! Here it is and you didn't see it coming!" kind of company ;)
Also NS2 (if I remember dev comments correctly) could be ported to Linux without Steam as it is not directly tied to the game code. But I think a developer could explain that again (or someone search for the quote ;))
But on topic: nice to see NS2 getting more and more publicity :)
woot woot! a few days ago, u posted a twitter update that exoskeleton and railgun were finished. that makes a total of 4 weapon upgrades for exo right? big luv!
Plasma rifle is probably railgun.
Congratulations, you have earned it.
Keep cranking!!
Plasma rifle was replaced with a rail gun. And the claw is not really an upgrade, and its also not really a claw. Basically when you start you will have a robotic hand on one side and a weapon on the other side. Then you can upgrade the weapon to a different type, or choose to duel wield that same weapon.

HULK SMASH
Heh, we've actually discussed having a flamethrower attachment for the exo, but that would be added after v1.0

Hey Cory, I'm curious, is there any chance we'll get to play the Onos soon (in the next month or two)?
But grats on the milestone, guys. Now we'll all be speculating what "early this year" winds up amounting to XD
Reporter: Well UWE... when will it be released?
UWE: We would love to release early this year, but well... we have to see how it goes.
Reporter => HEADLINE: Release early this year!
This also caught my attention:
<!--quoteo--><div class='quotetop'>QUOTE </div><div class='quotemain'><!--quotec-->the Spark engine is completely open source<!--QuoteEnd--></div><!--QuoteEEnd-->
I thought it was just the Lua game code that was open source? Unless I've missed something, the actual engine is still proprietary isn't it?
