Does any game in the dota genre have a replay function? I assume the original does, since replays are built into WC3 as far as I remember, but do the others? I think that's needed, because watching videos of the games is BORING. I'd much rather be able to move about the map myself, watching what *I* think is interesting, than being forced to follow one player's point of view all match.

I'm not sure how it works tho... guess you need an addon for it.<!--QuoteEnd--></div><!--QuoteEEnd-->
LoL's is a beta one cobbled by a third-party. It suffices. But people still want Riot to get their act together and make one since the unofficial one doesn't update health bars properly, doesn't have added in replay information in the overlay (unlike SC2), and other stuff.
DotA Original you could save the replay.
HoN you can download and review the replay, and people have made some awesome replay/Spectator mods to show important info.
If DotA 2 doesn't have one, then Valve will have seriously dropped the ball.
There's some awesome features- the director's cam is amazing and always manages to pick a hero before the gank (works spectating a game live, too). You can also switch to the player's POS which shows where abouts on the map they look and their mouse clicks.
It misses some basic stuff such as GPM, though.
Also has a feature that shows the players' heart rate when they wear the proper equipment. I'm not joking.

I guess the heartbeat could be pretty interesting in rage inducing games like DotA or NS though.

Step 1) Find friends that are experienced Step 2) Play with them and learn. Step 3) Realize how woefully inadequate you are and just learn Lich and Crystal Maiden for a while to support people.
Step 4) through step 20) Be flamed to kingdom come.
You know what I'd do if I were to make a DotA game? I'd take a survey of existing DotA players and ask them what their one dealbreaker feature would be. Then I would IMPLEMENT ALL THOSE FEATURES so that no current DotA player would like the game. That's the only way to fix the community.

Well that or... just remove chat... much much simpler.
People would probably draw the word "<a href="http://www.britanick.com/videos/?id=mephJf3-zYE" target="_blank">chicken######got</a>" with decals anyway....
Would like to have a key as well. But it is not necessary, I just want to try the game.
Valve mentioned that the final game will have more than a hundred hereos... who is supposed to keep track of all the information? There is no way you can test all of them.

They're porting a game that's been tweaked for many, many years. In theory, they go by the rule "anyone can use it, so it's balanced" and "just have a bajillion counters"
Comments
E.g.
- Gangplank
- Annie
- Nocturne
- Caitlyn
- Nunu
- Amumu
All of them seem to get regular use in top-tier play.
