I'm guessing that they were wanting the next news article to be a patch, but these network problems are obviously taking a lot longer to fix then presumed. Just be patient.

god i hope its not a deep engine problem. that would suck hard and take even more time to fix.

#9 the rest look too bulky and slow, PLUS even more important in my opinion, I am a big proponent of all Kharaa life forms having four legs. Makes then unique apart from all other aliens. Six or more legs to make it look alien is overdone.

Nah, I'm pretty sure legs don't magically turn into arms when four legged animals stand on their hind legs and swipe at stuff <img src="http://members.home.nl/m.borgman/ns-forum/smileys/biggrin.gif" border="0" class="linked-image" />
This next patch is really going to be amazing. I wish there was a way i could see the previous work on the progress tracker. Then I could compile a list of whats coming in the new patch for everyone to read and see how huge it'll be :)
I dunno, I love babblers, but i think making them bug-like is a bad thematic decision. Nothing else about the aliens or structures is particularly bug-like. The eggs might look kind of trilobite-ish, and I have the same reservation, but that's really minor. I'd suggest babblers that look more like mutated hairless flying squirrels.
It kind of depends on how they move, and how fast they move. Due to evolution, different characteristics would prevail as a dominant trait. So with that said: if they were to sort of jump towards someone, I would choose #4. If you wanted something that looks creepy to crawls towards someone & that would make their heart rate go up, I would choose either: #2, 5, & 8. #2 looks like it would really hurt if it were to take a bite out of you #5 I could imagine it using it large claw/ arm-like appendages slowly creeping forward as it tried to latch onto me. #8 looks like it would fit into the NS world nicely in large swarms
#9 isn't too bad either but it looks like it'd be an easy target in large swarms #1 would look better if it had some type of surgical needle pointing out like a mosquito, then it would be a nice candidate in my opinion #7 kind of looks cute
