Thanks for the torrent. I'm downloading and seeding to 1000% :)

Will seed more if needed...

Yay! I can't wait to get this up and running.

I just got back from my vacation in San Francisco an hour ago, and what a nice surprise to find waiting for me.

Congrats to UWE, this is such a huge milestone!!! Also, thanks again for meeting for lunch :-)

Thanks devicenull for the torrent, and let the mapping begin!

I'd love to know more about the rendering pipeline...

Seems you can add unlimited amount of lights without any slow down....

just a few things, somebody tell me if i'm just doing something wrong.

I place a light, how do i see the actual light it's projecting. The manual mentions a lit mode but i doesn't mention how to turn it on and i can't find it anywhere in the editor.

Deleting vertices/edges. When you delete a face, is there a way to delete the associated edges and vertices as well? For instance: If i create a rectangle face, then select and delete it, all it's vertices and edges are left behind.

Snap to grid when moving shapes. When i create a shape it's snapped to the grid, but when i use the move tool to move it or any of it's vertices or edges it doesn't snap to grid (even though snap to grid is still turned on)

Watch the video tutorial, it explains how to activate "lit mode".

Click on "Perspective" text in the top left corner and pick lit mode...

Also you can navigate the scene with WASD controls which is HEAPS easier.. Just hold down the right mouse button and use the WASD keys.

You have to select everything for now. It's a known issue and should be fixed in one of the next patches.

Are you using free-move or moving with the gizmo? Currently free-move does not snap, but grabbing one of the gizmo axis handles does.

WASD navigation doesn't seem to be working for me.

Also, is there any chance of future versions being able to import from programs like autocad and 3ds?

Yay torrent! Thank you very much, devicenull!

And just echoing others here, the torrent is VERY active. I'm maxing out my bandwidth after 10 seconds from loading it.
Save them some bandwidth! Hosting a file that big for this many people has to get expensive.

Additional Download URL available!!!!

http://ns2alpha.daworm.net/ns2_setup.exe

Connection is on a 10MB port, can server out almost 6000 copies for a month of downloads... GO NUTS!
Download managers are good as well so you can add it as a mirror.

Great work on the editor; very excited to finish this download and get started. Also very pleased to see the community come together and get a torrent going to help de-stress uwe's bandwidth. ;) Also enjoyed those mapping vids too - can't wait for more tips and tricks.

For such a large download, perhaps you should consider providing it through a torrent (as an option) to relieve some server stress?
Maybe a bit late now :P

Where should bug reports go?

I found that the "Save as" dialog doesn't refresh the file view when you click the new folder button which led me to think that it wasn't doing anything. When I went up a directory and then back into the directory I was in I saw that it had dutifully created a new folder each of the 10 times I pressed it...

edit: Note that it also doesn't refresh when you delete things...

Same here. I usually don't seed because bandwidth is expensive but this is worth it. Enjoy my 50 kb/s up guys lol
