I noticed some suit damage when I played the demo the second time - I think it's actually related to how you do in combat, because I was clean the first time when I stealthed around fine, but got a cut on it the second time when I was messing about.

I found several spots from where I could grapple myself to outside the level, into the void. Feels good, man.

Playing as Joker is pretty awesome. It's cool because you don't have all those bat-gadgets.

I have it, but I've not got around to playing as the Joker yet. Going to finish (properly) Story first, then Batman challenges, then Joker challenges. Damnit, I almost wish this game wasn't so good, it's making me miss playing BlazBlue!

That video was Ruuuuuuuubbbbiish Tykjen. Where was the gas can use? The jumping over people? Tossing them into the Electric fence? The mid-combo takedowns? The Boooooooooooooooooooooooom GUN!?

(Yes, I know it's not yours, but still!)

I played the demo once. Rubbish.

Played it the next day again, strangely loved it.

I may be buying via Steam when it's released. Love that joker video! =]

Too bad it's only on the PS3 version. I'd like to know the justification behind that.

Batman is "a master of all martial arts," according to the in-game biography. And while an enemy armed with a heavy iron pipe presents little danger to him, an enemy armed with KNIVES can NOT be countered nor attacked unless you flash your cape at him first. I don't know how someone who is incapable of disarming an assailant armed with a knife gets to call himself a "master" of anything. More like a novice.

Obviously knives allow access to some kind of super powers within the batman universe.

Batman with a knife would be godlike.

I also question Batman's decision to punch enemies in the stunbaton rather than, say, in the head.

I actually am not that impressed with the game. It's fun on the whole, but a majority of the boss fights are just annoying (I've always hated boss fights like this which most games sadly use). The exception being the scarecrow fights, those are fun. The rest of the game is pretty good and fighting big groups of guys you feel fairly awesome. A good game for me, but not a great game.

Since Resident Evil and Ninja Gaiden I've always hated boss fights but the ones in Arkham Asylum were pretty good: there weren't any controller-smashing bosses where one mistake means starting from scratch, but they were a bit too easy.

Off the top of my head, aside from Scarecrow and Croc the boss formula is:

    1. Throw batarangs as fast as you can
    2. Dive when huge monster/plant comes for you
    3. If vs. plant go back to (1), if vs. a venom 'boss' biff his face in then jump on him

    [Edit]

MOST IMPORTANTLY- NO QUICK TIME EVENTS.

Boss fights are never good in games like this, because "boss fight" mechanics are always so crazy compared to regular play. At least in this game there's an actual plot reason for each of the bosses acting like they do, rather than "this man is wearing red pants which means he's 10x tougher than the guy wearing blue".

That said, the Ivy fight was crap and the Croc "fight" was remarkably easy. I guess it'd be harder on consoles simply because you have to aim a batarang at his collar rather than just at him (and the quick-batarang button doesn't hit the collar), but with a mouse it's easy. He never got more than a foot out of the water before I put him back down.

He got more than a foot out of the water when he was far away, but that was due to travel time.

And yes, the Ivy fight was ######.

Also, I desire a large challenge brawl with only regular thugs. No:

knife thugs

baton thugs

titan thugs

thrown objects

guns

screaming lunatics

time limit.

Just you, a ######load of thugs and a combo length of 200.

The ivy fight is *exactly* the same as the midget boss in RE4.

Yes, yes it does. On PC & PS3, from a quick check.

Except, you know, you could single shot him with a rpg.

Otherwise they spiced the ivy battle up with some mind controlled guards running around.

And seriously guys, if it didnt have knife/baton dudes, everyone would cry "too easy" or "no variation". Not that I would say no to a few more massive grunt battles.
