Puzl, I'd have to disagree on your comment about GDF taking awhile to learn Sewer, and thus the same will be with Valley. In Sewer, it was the Strogg who had to learn how to do the map. Most games I played. GDF steamrolled Strogg, unless it was a kickass Strogg team, at which point it was a tooth and nail fight, usually in the favour of Strogg.
So far, I've seen far more Strogg wins than GDF on Valley. It seems like it's the opposite way round from Beta 1. That may be because Sewer could be ramboed by GDF, but Strogg had to work together. In Valley, Strogg can run around like headless chickens, if GDF don't have a good teamplaying mix of players.
I'm really tempted to get the full game even though I have to run it on really low settings to play. It is pretty fun to play even though I've been distracted with other things lately.

I honestly haven't played much of beta 2 yet, and I don't know if I will. I sorta stopped being interested in it after playing a lot of Beta 1.

Airstrikes and the Violator are of course a different matter.. however even then I've yet to get a TK report for using them... Well, so long as I actually fire in the general direction of the enemy.
but yeah, if you are going to be doing artillery on defensive (its always a good idea to have 1 person doing it) use the Anti-personal or Anti-Armor variants, they fire and recharge faster. I have to say, after buying BF2142 and playing it for a few days, ET:QW just feels somewhat lacking and not as much fun to play anymore. BF2142 just feels better, is more fun to play and you feel you have accomplished something when you get permanently unlocked capabilities and weapons.
I'm not sure if it's me or not, but the latest patch to ET:QW beta2 lags more and is not as smooth as it was.

Yeah that could be the case, but my experience from playing BF2142 then going straight back to ET:QW just made it feel like it was laggier. Be it internet or graphics lag. I run both games at 1600x1200 at highest settings and BF2142 definately runs smoother graphics wise, even on full 64 player servers.
The first beta of QW actually ran the best for me, on the Sewer map.
I would hold off final decisions until a demo, because what we've got now is a beta. I've played BF2 and QW:ET and they seemed about the same as far as lag goes. Not sure about 2142.

Yeah it has probably to do with the map. Valley is definately a much bigger map with more vehicles and structures. Not only is the open area big, but also has a huge tunnel and a big sewer system which acts as a 2nd entrance to the Strogg last base and alot of people seem to ignore.
Also there seems to be alot of server lag, as when i feel the lag, i see many people on server complain about lag in local chat.
And they just announced they are wiping the accounts tomorrow, wednesday at 10pm GMT.

One is that it was really easy to gain a great deal of exp as a strogg in valley, not too hard as GDF either.
The other reason is that a lot of people, myself included, had a ranking bug that wouldn't increase their rank past the point they achieved at the end of beta I. Occasionally I would get a huge rank boost, but it would disappear the next time I logged in.
