Honestly, they didn't appear enough in the game for me - I killed maybe 8 of them?

Good. I hate scary things. I get scared enough as it is, I don't need to start PAYING to be scared.
Blood-suckers appear in that little village north of Bar and in the outzone-type section to the west of it. (Neocron veterans will know what I speak of.)

yea.. killed them. I don't spend large amounts in each area so I didn't really see them respawn.
I saw maybe 3 controllers, 1 giant and the rest of the mutants were common as muck.

First time I met one i yelled out after it just appeared out of nowhere infront of me.
Half-life files WERE stolen, but they were probably 'buy to use' sounds. When you start, walk right down the road to the military base. You should hear some very familiar ghoulish howling sounds.
I'm just about around the bar area, but i'm back and forth between my rl job, CC3 and Stalker so yeah. I'm also playing Stalker on master so it takes a bit more time haha. Rushing the Ai always seems to be the best bet i've noticed.
Ps. Interesting info if you guys didn't know. the zoom key with a grenade allows u to change the power of the throw.

it's a pretty useless feature - I used it maybe once the entire game. Then again I barely used grenades anyway
I agree, I just randomly chuck them. Haven't had much luck clearing out two guys at once. Guess it's better in a close quarters combat thing or to clear out a room.

Ahhh bloodsucker stories <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/biggrin-fix.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":D" border="0" alt="biggrin-fix.gif" />.. Scared the living crap out of me too.. When I heard the growling and saw tentacles in my face I jerked my mouse aim in panic and fired off a clip in a random direction. The damn thing then turned invisible and moved around the room while I was fumbling with my reload. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/sad-fix.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":(" border="0" alt="sad-fix.gif" />
A fun thing to do later btw is to climb on top of a scaffolding tower in one of the villages and pick off the zombies below with a sniper rifle.
I used 3 of the +400% health artis and haven't noticed much of a difference, but then yet, i'm guess i'm taking more dmg because my bullet resist went down.
And the blue armor bar, does that ever go down? Or once again, is it because it's on the hardest skill?

seriously - it's more fun unpatched. The bleeding artifact bug is good - you get a loss of bleeding and whatever the actual positive side of the artifact was supposed to be (normally radiation protection or something)
Sorry to somewhat necro post from page 3, but I'm stuck!
I'm in Lab x18 (freaky ###### place) and I just got the final documents and there is this "fire spirit" wondering around. When I go to the door, it's closed with flames and says somebody is holding it. WTH do I do to get out?!
I haven't actually played through the game, but I do believe I read somewhere that
[SPOILER...maybe] <!--coloro:#041E2D--><span style="color:#041E2D"><!--/coloro-->You have to 'kill' the fire spirit, just shoot it or bash it; it takes damage and eventually dies.<!--colorc--></span><!--/colorc--> [/SPOILER]
Of course, like I said, I haven't actually played the game (I was also surprised to see it costs like $70/€50 over here, while it was like $30 at Walmart when I left the US).
So. I gathered that i'm supposed to grenade the door? <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/siege.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="::siege::" border="0" alt="siege.gif" />
No no. You know how earlier, you fought those invisible psychic things that threw objects at you? They always made electrical static wherever they were? Well, think of this thing as exactly the same, but flaming instead. Shoot the blurry fire spirit going around, basically. Don't shoot the little circles the jets of fire come out of; those are just a cover. Find the fire spirit; it wanders around. And don't worry, I got stuck there too.

O.o <!--QuoteEnd--></div><!--QuoteEEnd-->
Sorry, should have been clearer. I meant that I basically went mental with the grenades throwing as many as I could do hoping theyd kill the flame-shooter-ball-thing while screaming like a little girl. (It works!)
Thought I was pretty clear when I said "the door is blocked and wth do i get out?" <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/tounge.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":p" border="0" alt="tounge.gif" />
Killing the sprite is supposed to cause a script to unlock the door to let you out. That's why people are discussing how to kill the sprite (if I remember right, all you need is a quick burst with an assault rifle).
Comments
It only really needs about 6.7gb's of hard-drive space. :/

Has anyone seen an NPC playing the harmonica? 'Cos it sounded awesome.

Yes. I recall going into that room with ~15 grenades (which I always tend to ######) and leaving with around 2.
