Not sure about the 'lethal' part. That wouldn't work for me.
Take Fallout 4 as an example. The 'urge' to find your daughter didn't improve the game (IMO). And in the original Subnautica, I didn't really care about the Kharaa (nor the rea… -
Sadly, the usual answer is: "You have to use a Nexus mod to get this".Not sure if the 'pop in' issue is that much the fault of the Subnautica development team.
Usually, game developers use a game engine (like Unity in case of Subnautica), buy a few extra plugins (like a wave simulation, fish animation or a…Well, there's a mod for the PC version that does exactly that.
BTW: I don't really understand why the devs don't implement these trivial improvements themselves... same with the moonpool rotate f.e.Keep in mind that the biomes you've mentioned (blood kelp & sea treaders path) served different purposes and therefore had to be treated differently.
These areas were designed with the Cyclops in mind and were barren landscapes. Dark…The squidshark skin color might not be the best match for the lily biome, but the creature still makes sense there.
Squidsharks are medium sized predators (larger than brute sharks) with a rather low threat level. They wouldn't make sens…The normal sea monkeys can bring you resources already. It seems that the materials they will bring you are determined by the blueprint you've pinned to your HUD.On Below zero:
I agree that the in-game infos about resources should give you more details where to find them, especially since the mineral detector isn't such a great tool either. Most MMOs implemented some sort of CC (crowd control) immunity. So Subnautica could do so as well (I guess it would be a implemented as another XxxMixin class).
As a developer, I'd say the issue isn't really the statis immunity threshold…I like the idea. Although the main question is how fast it reloads, if you can exclude small or harmless creatures and if there will be a proper collision detection (i.e. unable to use it through walls).
In short: a tool similar to a gr…(Quote) This is actually called: 'SeaGlide'.
The only difference is that you don't have to hop on/off the Se…@SilverBeard, I already wrote about sloping corridors (see Slope compart…Reminds me of the Soil Centrifuge concept (Astroneer game). It would require the player to be able to collect 'soil'. It would work if the player would pick up outcrops ins…General 1
There's a cool mod for Subnautica that loads parameters (like resource costs, resource inventory sizes, creature HPs, creature damage values or energy costs) from .json resource files.
They implemented this because the SeaTruck isn't working above sea level and the SnowFox has no storage compartment. So you're quite limited in how much you can carry with you. To add a fast travel everywhere (tether tool) isn't such a great idea du…I finally managed to get a glimpse at the april release... and it hurts me to say that it feels more like the start of an action game. It's basically the start of Mass…(Quote) Well, although I have to admit that I don't fully understand Subnautica's concept of crush damage, BaseHullStrength victims, LiveMixins & Leakables, I think you don't want texture overrides based on hitpoints because you don't want cr…Lily pads
For me, the area is too sparse. That's because most lilies only have a single leaf per stem, there's only a single stem per bolder and bolders are too far away from the seabed. Furthermor…The pathfinder tool works above sea level as well, although the use is limited. The signs will block your movement and will constantly glitch through the texture of the surface (the latter is the same with flares or beacons).
What I don'…I thought you meant something more like a frog or insect carrying it's own eggs or larvae... just not on the back but on it's belly or abdomen. (removed the link because it might be disturbing, so google it at your own risk)
My concerns isn't how Marguerit survives the leviathan. That's a piece of cake. Any explaination will do. A story could easily have her survive being swallowed alive. And in regard of getting to the artic region, a 'finding nemo'-like hitchhike on a…In regard of the story, I am also on a febuary build and that one doesn't really work for me. BelowZero is far less a game I'd love than Subnautica and surely not the game I expected when I got the EarlyAccess. But even worse, I never truly got used…I wish they would redesign the chassis for Below Zero. With a way more vertical map design, it's really impractical. That's my view to get out of a cave:
in Why the PRAWN Suit sucks Comment by darrin March 2020The question is how to implement it. Players could just deconstruct and rebuild certain parts. That's why I would start with a purely cosmetic feature. Maybe as a special base color (like a camouflage, gradient or special texture option); as a new c…Ha! Point 3 happened to me once. I preferred the red lights over full or no lights. It gave the cyclops the touch of a real submarine. But after turning off the engine and exploring the deep caves (appox. 1500m) with my PRAWN suit, I returned and co…A propulsion arm or a grav-trap arm (area of effect) ... just picking up everything automatically. Wouldn't be hard to implement.
In regard of a propulsion arm: I actually never understood why it's not possible to pick items up (just lik…I apologize if I didn't understand you correctly.
What I meant is that a single unique upgrade per type of module would be feel like a must have (like the thruster upgrade for the PRAWN). Upgrades in general tend to feel like hidden cost…@huggehbear
I found out that 'no mans sky' has underwater bases with force fields. So maybe that's more what you want. I still don't like it though. I would…I wouldn't like fix SeaTruck upgrades per module. Unless there are multiple options per module, it would be just a sneaky way to split the overall cost. Because in most cases, only the upgraded version would be the thing you're looking for.
