Indeed, the problem really is that Marines need to be WAY more aggressive than aliens to stay in the game. The biggest imbalance here is between the alien and marine economy. Aliens can safely sit around on 3 or so RTs until Fades,… -
Was pleasantly surprised with this map, real top notch quality work! Should be made an official map IMO.

Well, SantaClaws may have a point in saying that the inherent problem here is not so much balance as it is just a flaw in NS2's gameplay. Either way, it does suck a lot of enjoyment out of game playing marines knowing that it's going to be nigh impo…

NS2's biggest problem is its CPU performance, no?
Don't see how DX12 would help with that. -
Could always just bring back glancing bites. I know it's not exactly the ideal solution, but at least that would lower the skill floor somewhat.
(which is the biggest problem with aliens in NS2 at the moment) -
It would have been much better to offer NS2 Combat as a standalone expansion or something like that. If the two products were somehow integrated, I trust it would benefit both games tremendously. I don't know if it's already too late for that, but i…

Honestly, if anything they should just make a lot of the game's mechanics more accessible for newer players (easier to learn, while keeping it hard to master). Especially when it comes to playing aliens or comm/khamm-ander. NS2 is a pain for new pla…

Sure am, and thanks! Been playing a lot again lately, you guys have done great things with the game so far! Excited to see what else you may have in store for us in A list of lost features, abilities and content from earlier builds.. Comment by Xarius January 2015 -

Word, I really wish we could finally get rid of this redundant extra structure. At least then they wouldn't become entirely useless once aliens get bilebomb.
It's perfectly fine that they're capped at 3 and were made a lot le… -
I'm pretty sure it did damage in earlier versions, but it was negligible. Like 20 damage at most.
Don't really see what the point to bringing it back would be to be honest.
I'd rather they fix Xeno first. -
- Glancing Bites for Skulks
- Sentries that weren't godawful.

I'd say NS2's balance is in a pretty good place right now, but it would definitely be interesting to introduce some changes that make some techs/weapons/strategies more viable and further benefit game-play.
-
Honestly, with all the pressure that is on the marine economy early on in the game (in a game that isn't completely going the marines' way), I've never found it a worthy T.res investment. This is one of the techs that could definitely benefit from p…

Slower gameplay, bigger maps, creepier atmosphere and more commander RTS perspective depth.
(More build paths, techs, buildings, etc...) -
Better performance is still the one thing that is preventing me from truly enjoying this game. Though I suppose it could be considered a testament to my love for this game that I have nearly 600 hours of gametime, despite the relatively poor perform…

Might make it easier for the public at large to support NS2's future development, so I don't see why not.
Should keep open a donation channel on the website for people to contribute more if they feel like it though. -
I'd love to see some more performance improvements, though there's no denying that they've already made great strides since the early days of release and probably have most players running the game smoothly.

I don't think shade is all that bad really, though I got kicked as a commander going shade first the other day, so I guess most would disagreeAbsolutely enjoyed playing MvM in the past and I'm really looking forward to playing it again . Hope you're not too far off anymore!Well Christmas IS technically at the 'end' of 2013. I can't imagine UWE will be spending a lot of time in the office around that period so I'm sure your wish is a realistic one!
But boy, eclipse is going to be amazing for sure.Good stuff, more people need to learn that the best way to kill fades and lerks is to intercept them on their flight path.Yea, I have to agree the current implementation of the alien tech tree is as lackluster as the previous iterations. Not only that, it's now also incredibly unintuitive indeed. I think getting rid of individual upgrade research (3 shells for cara,3 f…I'll have to agree, this is a shitty way to 'force' more gorges from players. If you actually made it so the alien commander wasn't a tedious part-time activity, maybe the commanders wouldn't be able to spend their p.res on being a part-time gorge t…Tell me this, what's the difference between marines needing 2 CCs for endgame tech or marines needing to deny aliens 3/4 CCs if they want to stay in the game? Both situations imply both teams will have to play aggressive in order to win. Whether the…The problem is not so much that marines can get everything on 1 CC, it's that aliens MAXED out have absolutely no, zero, advantage over said marines. Surely we can all agree this is a major flaw in the current design. This wasn't so much of a proble…(Quote) This seems like a very biased statement to be honest. Marine turtles were a thing long before the 2nd CC requirement was dropped as well. Have they exacerbated the problem? No doubt. But are they the largest cause? I don't think so...
You should try putting that wall of text with players elaborating on what's wrong with the game in a wordcloud, may be more interesting to look at
