As of yesterday's experimental build I had this happen with a completely fresh save, within 25 minutes of starting. As soon as it happens, the game won't save.... there wasn't even a cache generated yet.

Update: Just had this happen to a fresh save in Experimental, not even 25 minutes on the clock. As soon as the world chunks stopped loading in, saving was also disabled.

I've explored down to 900m now, and found a path down lower! Just got my Cyclops upgraded to get to 1.5km with a Prawn along for the ride to go Deeper(tm)I wish this was possible!
