Quartz is actually quite plentiful , scour the safe shallows and floating islands (in the north , also beware the bone sharks) biomes. The one relatively rare resource is silver , but enough can be found in the kelp forest for a few seamoths and all…

It is quite literally the most immersive game yet

I like that idea , cannibalism under stressful conditions for those fishes.
-
So , were the predators reduced in number ? I found stalkers somewhat sparse in the kelp , and bone sharks only common in the underwater floating islands biome.
-
Some elements of that poll aren't comparable , "more story" and "respawn rates" do not take the same work resources as stuff for seabases or biomes ; creatures and weapons require more testing for their behavior than seabase structures. More tech...…

I made a sneakier sand shark thread for that , but the symbiosis with biterfishes is intriguing. Although there should be a reasonable chance to survi…

More importantly , SQUIRREL KNIGHT !

I completely forgot about airsacks. Judging by their appearance , they could change buoyancy on a whim , floating up to evade you. Easy to catch close to the surface , not so much from the bottom of a reef.

According to my steam stats , Subnautica provides approximately 21 hours of content. You can get more mileage out of it if you search absolutely everything and build seabases in multiple places , but not more than 30 hours per run.

That would be tiered access to finite resources , not them being renewable though. Which brings me to another point : Subnautica resources are very plentiful. With thorough exploration you'll have more than you can reasonably use.
-
I think it's mostly a good thing that resources don't renew. It drives you to explore away from your safe cocoon , which in turn makes you want a cyclops to operate away from your base. Once you obtain an upgraded seamoth along with that , you'll ha…

Fancy update , I like that saves can be upgraded with the new content !

After playing for a while , it seems the game suffers from minecrafty difficulty erosion. As you craft more items and structures , difficulty drops off - with cyclops and the stasis rifle making the biggest difference.
A solution would b… -
Having predators randomly disarm you (especially being able to grab the stasis rifle) could be annoying , but it'd add considerable challenge and tension for sure. Something to reserve for harder difficulty levels.

I like the idea of a beacon tagging torpedo to permanently mark the location of reapers , that would be both worth the titanium expense and nonlethal. There's the small issue of having to use a stun torpedo immediately after to survive the encounter…

Completely disagree. Arbitrary area restrictions would be immersion-breaking (pun intended) and would go against the freedom of exploration that is in my view a big part of the game. Someone who wants to play without vehicles can visit the Grand Ree…

As I said in a previous thread , solar pannels will only charge up their own storage - power cells cannot recharge at all right now.
-
A simple solution is to add a wall prop to take power cells (and make them properly rechargeable) of the same type as the cyclops.
Possibly solar pannels need an energy generation nerf anyway , and the nuclear reactor use fuel far slower… -
Future Perfect is already on hold anyway , but it's an interesting and useful game-making tool that many would also miss. Plus some people already paid for it.
-
But... fission reactors cannot cause nuclear explosions...
Plus the Aurora's exploding core failed to kill any of those reapers in the first place. Well , there's no corpses of them floating around , at least.
Fun story so far , ca… -
Mystery solved : the solar pannels will generate energy to fill their capacitors , but not the cyclops' power cells. On top of that , the cyclops will first drain power cells rather than solar pannel capacitors , making them effectively useless unti…

I also observed that. They recharged about 5 energy then stopped.

Seems to have been fixed.

Agreed , rare amphibious predators would fit the islands better than reapers trying to beach themselves. Something that keeps the population of crawlers down alsoAs long as it doesn't bring another hunger bar , I'm not against it. But I don't see the point when we have no nocturnal predators like in minecraft. I just want to be able to explore for an extended length of time with the cyclops , without having …Anyone else tried this recently ? I like the idea of a solar powered sub... even if it sounds too good to be true. Most damage dealt to me overall...
1) Reaper (that's 80hp gone , no contest)
2) Crash (took several blasts to the face)
3) Stalkers
4) Bleeders
5) Spike plant
Death by drowning only. It's a geforce GTX 760 , sufficient for the game , but I keep settings to minimum due to only having 4 gb of ram (the game runs out of memory otherwise) ; mostly my pc case has poor air flow.
