Just a quick follow-up: Build 261 changelog shows there now is a reworked player vs player collision system in the game!

Some NS2 collision trivia that I didn't notice anyone saying. Remeber spotting this on forums back in beta, might not be accurate:
NS2 character collision models are rounded. AFAIK all non-fade aliens have a ball-shaped collision model. … -

As a reply and as a PSA: If you have the deluxe edition, the full soundtrack can be found in your game folder as music files (MP3 if I remember correctly).

I prefer to keep my NS2 soundtrack and my NS2 gaming separate, thank you... But I do have the soundtrack on my phone and I do listen to it sometimes in Why are we not using NS2's amazing soundtrack? Comment by Squirreli_ November 2013

EDIT nevermind, can't get image to work on this forum.

Personally, I think running non-default skins is a disadvantage, as it is easier to focus fire at a certain individual in a group, when the skins are different. You are giving more information to the opponent by pimping out the way you look. Sure, i…

A good feature request. I have been asking this for a long time... However, there is a workaround: Console binds.
In console, type, for instance:
bind F6 setsensitivity 1
bind F7 setsensitivity 3

Armoury helps marines in regaining and controlling a room, especially if the commander is bad or if the fighting is intense in the room.
Resource tower is a key part of their economy and always useful.

These days everything is a stack. It is the go-to excuse for everything from the position of the moon to the banking crisis. I've heard people complaining about stacked teams after an even 40 minute round. Just last night, we had many veterans on a …

Yes.
NS2 is still the most challenging and team-play oriented FPS I've found (except maybe NS1). PCWs with good teams are just awesome, but the game works for me even on publics (if you are really careful about the servers you frequent).… -
Tunnels will be fixed soon, according to this thread. No worries. These so-called "innovative placements" aka. cheap exploits will soon be gone …

The first tunnel placement may be innovative, all the following repeats are just boring copy-cat exploits. In many maps, these tunnels are game-breakingly effective and practically undestroyable until 15 minutes into the game. The … -

Multiple top EU servers have an option to vote for NS2Stats ELO-based teams. Lately I've frequented YO clan, TAW, German Slaughterhouse and HBZ and generally have had good games. Not all of those servers enforce ELO, I think, but a… -
NS2 has always been about challenge and teamwork. That is what is killing the game (or rather, keeping it in a niche); it is a difficult game that really doesn't cater to the casual players. As an example, I have a group of friends who play CS:GO da…

And just to clarify: The quick marine side-to-side movement and jumping, when combined to lag compensation, gives the marine a bit too strong advantage. The skulk is in serious trouble if it collides with anything and loses momentu… -
Mouse 2 for +forward, ever since Wolfenstein 3D.
t = crouch
f = left
h = right
g = backpedal
And inverted mouse of course! -

Oh shit! I'm a bad alien only floor skulk!

It has been suggested - back in beta I think - that there could be different FoV settings from marines and aliens... And lifeform specific settings (including keybinds) for that matter.

I don't know if the rookie friendly marking is completely useless...
Personally, I do not use rookie servers (except for bringing friends into the game) so at least I refrain from pub stomping there. Not likely I'm alone in this.
@RedDog - Thank you for casting! Really enjoyable games and castsMy main beef with the Docking has always been the way it tends to force long drawn-out games. The really open marine tech points without cover make for easy marine defenses while the multiple choke-points on the northern side make stopping early mar…(Quote)
Wtf. Maybe you are serious, maybe you're just a forum troll I fail to recognize by name. In any case, I'll just leave your comment there.Oh, and I wouldn't be against a working setup for actually finding skilled public games or match-making games. Wouldn't mind that at all. I wouldn't mind getting a an easy-access way to play against good players. None of the current mechanisms reall…(Quote)
So let me get this straight, we have Locklear's post you didn't even read before letting your prejudices run wild?(Quote)
No, I do not really "really think those memory leaks only happen at Client side atm". There are bugs that occur sometimes and that is cool. No contest there. I'm expecting UWE to fix those. I'm also still waiting for UWE to give us…(Quote)
Dunno about your geographical area, but right now it seems that in Europe at least there is an abundance of working servers with proper hardware. There is no real need to run an iffy server. Sure, if the problems are really borderl…(Quote)
Two-sided coin, this one. Sure enough, server performance could be much better. Then again, no matter what the server performance has been, some people have always been pushing the limits with outdated hardware. Just yesterday I en…After having lolled around in CS:GO matchmaking for a while now with friends, I must say, I feel like even a not-so-good matchmaking system would be a nice thing to have in NS2... Could in many cases beat random completely random pubbing.(Quote)
I really do not recognize my NS2 Combat experience in what you are describing and I feel your comparison to NS2 is somewhat lacking. You cherry-pick things like "no alien structures" yet do not account for the marine's lack of thei…(Quote)
Even though apparently now "We all know", I strongly disagree. Even after the recent alien nerfs, the gameplay is balanced enough even in the end-game JP/SG vs Fades to be fun and good practice. I'm not sure if this is the case on …
