I liked ns2 a long time, however i was for the slow tactical rts type of gameplay, so i quit playing ns2 for quite a while now already.
Looking here and there if something changes back to a more tactical version, but i doubt it will.

Howsers idea seems pretty well, that should make it a map worth playing, currently the 249 docking just isnt voted anymore on the pubs i play. Not got 1 docking game in the last 3 days- that says everything about 249 docking "favor".

You switch the default keys in the options.xml, so for example Y with Z (qwerty/qwertz keyboards), if it still works.
Should then look like the following
<Z>Y</Z>
<Y>Z</Y>

Yep, keep the old AND the new. Call it different, make some further changes to docking new - clean up cafe, make it balanced for small servers with 4 techs and switch terminal with landing pad maybe, or move terminal a bit.
And then call it Do… -
5 Controlpoint map is anyway better for balancing, as if a slightly better team is capable of defending 3 Techs, it is most of the time not able to defend 4 Points, ie letting the slightly weaker team a chance of changing the situation.

You're right, and i really hope that UWE does look carefully at those "balance mod" and dont put everything blind in, as it is basically then a lot more then just an update, its a game changer.

Well its just the new docking isnt Docking anymore. I dont say no changes ever to Docking, or no changes at all to the game.
But why the hell did you _>remove<_ docking ?

Easy, make one Map free in Demo, and limit them on special Demo Servers. Normal Players can also join Demo Matches, but not Demo Players the normal Servers.

There is no "skill" in mash a button faster as humans can (...script), so yes there must be a limit set which is fixed. No one can click 10 times a second a button. Not even "skilled" players.
